My Mar 2023 trip

Botswana between 16 Mar 2023 and 27 Mar 2023

Trip rating: Excellent
"We really liked the suggested itineraries on the Expert Africa website. If we were to book again we might spend a little more time analysing the alternative camps."

Machaba Camp

Machaba Camp

"Machaba Camp review"

3 nights Arrived 17 Mar 2023
"Machaba was a lovely start to our holiday. The staff were all very welcoming and personalised. We loved the tented accommodation- in fact the rooms were our favourite of the three camps we stayed at. Food was delicious. The camp has a very relaxed feel to it. Our guide was very good and we were lucky to be the only people on our vehicle so had his undivided attention."

Splash Camp

"Splash Camp review"

3 nights Arrived 20 Mar 2023
"Very comfortable accommodation. Our room was a distance from the central area which was fine for us but could be an issue for some people. When we arrived there was an elephant and her baby resting in the shade by our lodge which was wonderful. Food was very good. All staff were very welcoming. We had a very good guide and we’re really lucky to share our vehicle with four lovely and like-minded people."

Tau Pan Camp

Tau Pan Camp

"Tau Pan Camp review"

3 nights Arrived 23 Mar 2023
"Tau Pan is in a lovely setting. The staff were very welcoming. The food was ok but not quite as good as our previous two camps. It rained fairly heavily for the majority of our stay but we still went out on all the game drives wrapped up in the fantastic waterproof ponchos that were provided. Tau Pan itself is a beautiful area which reminded me of East Africa. Oryx and springbok were very plentiful. Also the resident pride of eight lion were very entertaining. Saw bat-eared fox for the first time too. Excellent bird life. Our guide and tracker were both exceptional."
