"I went to Kabwe to open a Skills Centre for CONTESA, a UK-based charity that provides an education for very underprivileged Zambian children, many of whom are AIDS orphans. They also managed a wall-fence building project for me at a state school on the outskirts of Kabwe. Wonderfully moving occasions both with attendances from the Deputy Director of Education and the District Commissioner.

I stayed at the Zambesi Source Lodge which is on the outskirts of town and provides a straightforward basic accommodation - clean and comfortable. Food OK but no stars. Compares well with Tuskers which is more expensive and offers slightly more comfortable accommodation in the centre of town.

Car and driver provided by Europcar who provided everything I could ask for. Car clean and well maintained; driver safe and good company. Quiet when required and chatty if prompted."

"Rooms very comfortable and reception very good. Food very good in restaurant though breakfast service was slow and not as helpful as one would have ideally liked.

Hot shower failed to work and main room lights failed."

"Windhoek is a spectacularly well organised and clean city.

The Olive Grove was very comfortable and everything worked properly. Food was good and service friendly and efficient. Excellent place to stopover."

"A typical Wilderness camp. Very comfortable, excellent service and food. It's easy to become blasé about Wilderness but they maintain such consistently high standards of service and ethics that they should be encouraged to continue in this vain.

Guide very good but not quite up to the standards of Wildernesses guides in Zambia and Botswana."

"Another Wilderness quality camp albeit more basic than Little Kalula.

Very comfortable, extremely helpful and friendly staff and guide. Can't fault it."

"Not quite up to the standards of the other two camps and by the standards of Wilderness. Comfortable enough but food was decidedly average.

Etosha itself more like a ZA park with lots of paved roads and private vehicles. Wildlife impressive and the guides worked very hard to find what clients wanted to see. Again guides knowledgeable but not quite as deeply impressive as Botswana and Zambia - or perhaps just more reticent? Good in any event."
