Trip rating: Excellent
"We were very pleased with the service we received from Liz, she was very knowledgeable, answered many questions, gave sound advice and we were delighted she recommended Beho Beho which was the highlight of the trip.

The trip was extremely well organised, any future trips to Africa will certainly be booked through yourselves.

Thank you Liz for arranging such a memorable holiday."

Beho Beho

Beho Beho

"Great safari at Beho Beho"

4 nights Arrived 24 Sep 2010
"We could find no fault with Beho Beho, the camp and location were stunning, our room had a bath as well as shower, and was very spacious with a view over the plains.

The guides were very knowledgeable, the combination of walks and game drives was an excellent way to see the animals up close, the full day out to lake Tagalala was very special.

The highlight was the bush night, the tent was delightful as was the surprise bottle of champagne, from the staff to celebrate my birthday. Our walking guide Ian made us feel safe and really enjoy being in the bush thanks to his knowledge, he looked after us extremely well.

We thought it particularly good that we all had meals together, guides, hostess and guests, it was more like a house party with friends, and a great way to get to know people."

"A very exciting experience, it really made our trip.

Every comfort was waitng for us at the bush camp after an exciting walk guided by Ian who was charming, and very professional.

Delightful dinner under the stars, a comfortable nights sleep then awoken with coffee to a beautiful sunrise. We felt safe at all times and enjoyed the bush camp experience immensely."

Matemwe Retreat

Matemwe Retreat

"Matemwe retreat review"

5 nights Arrived 29 Sep 2010
"We really enjoyed the space and privacy of our villa, Safina. Our butler Daniel was superb, could not do enough for us, and his calm quiet manner was delightful.

Sally took the trouble to check that everything was ok which was very thoughtful. We had a couple of meals at the Bungalows, the food was good throughout the stay and the bar was well stocked.

The view from the villa was beautiful with stunning sunrises, the rooftop plunge pool was a great way to cool off as we watched the dhows sail by. The bath was enormous with ocean view.

We were disappointed with the snorkelling off Mnemba, the trip was well organised but there were many boats all chasing dolphin and both guests and guide were touching both coral and fish."

Fumba Beach Lodge

Fumba Beach Lodge

"Great diving off Fumba"

5 nights Arrived 4 Oct 2010
"A good lodge, rooms with direct access to the beach, lovely infinity pool, terrific sunsets, outdoor bathroom and seating rotated at dinner to include tables nearer to the sea. The staff were very friendly.

The food was generally very good, however when seated on the beach service tended to be slower. One steak meal was disappointing, difficult to eat partly due to the steak but also the blunt knife, as we were seated on the beach the waiter had disappeared.

We enjoyed 3 days of superb diving, in the marine reserve, with our own personall guide, Lauren. The diving was very well organised and the boat crew extremely helpful, the equipment new and of good quality."

Beyt al Salaam

Beyt al Salaam

"Beyt al Chai review"

1 night Arrived 9 Oct 2010
"Excellent location overlooking a shady square near to the sea, charming old Zanzibari guesthouse, more a restraunt with rooms, than hotel. The honesty bar in a lovely lounge is a nice touch.

Russell walked through Stonetown with us pointing out places of interest, which was very helpful.

Our room was on the top floor and was nice and airy with the windows open, at night the air con and fan kept the room very cool. The tea and coffee in the room was good.

We enjoyed dinner at Beyt al Chai after a day's sigtseeing unaccompanied, it seemed much better to wander and get lost in the maze of narrow streets than be shepherded along by a guide, a useful map was provided when we checked in. We would recommend a sundowner at the Africa House which is nearby, followed by dinner at Beyt al Chai which was exceptionally good."
