Overall Feedback
Zanzibar and 1 other country between 20 Dec 2010 and 4 Jan 2011
Liz in particular was amazing - right from advising and helping us put together an itinerary, to sorting our flights out in the Heathrow chaos and helping us when needed during our trip. Liz's achievement in swapping us from BA to Kenya Airways on 20 December (at virtually no extra cost), without any exaggeration, saved the whole trip.
I would whole-heartedly recommend Expert Africa to friends and family, and I'll be in touch when we visit Africa again!
Thanks again for all your hard work,
Neil and Jo

Keep up the good work, everyone in Africa we met spoke very highly of Expert Africa."

Zanzibar Palace Hotel

Pongwe Beach Hotel
"Pongwe Beach Hotel review"
The rooms are pretty but rustic, which we loved - it was warm at night, but the fan was a life-saver! The resort has a family atmosphere, with staff and guests all intermingling in a very comfortable way.
Pongwe is also excellent value - we couldn't think of anything more you would need from a beach holiday."

Mdonya Old River Camp
"Mdonya Old River Camp review"
The camp was located in a very beautiful area and the recent short rains made it very lush indeed - a modern day garden of eden! The tent was very comfortable and listening to the animals wandering around at night is an unforgettable experience. The camp has a genuine bush-feel, which is added to by the open-air dining and camp fire drinks. The food is very good given the location, although not as lavish as in the Selous Impala Camp."

Impala Camp
"Selous Impala Camp review"
The variety of safari was nice and we really enjoyed the boat safari and fishing (we got a few very big cat fish). The jeep safari was very different to Ruaha, with the land much drier and animals lesser in number. We did, however, see wildebeest, wild dogs, hyenas and vultures feeding on a hippo carcass. We very NEARLY saw a leopard on our last day - we found its kill (impala) in a tree but we couldn't find the leopard.
The only minor quibble is that the camp managers, whilst very nice, are obviously instructed to talk with you each time you are in the lodge - it felt like we had to give constant feedback."

Ras Kutani, Tanzania (this camp has since closed)
"Ras Kutani review"
The beach was also gorgeous (almost as nice as Pongwe). The food was the most impressive we tasted in Tanzania and the service was impeccable (led by Mark, the very helpful manager).
The beauty treatments were a very nice bonus and (unlike many other places) reasonably priced."

We didn't eat lunch or dinner at the hotel but breakfast was very pleasant."
