Golden Jackal Fly-in Safari: Summary
Golden Jackal Safari in a nutshell
This Kenyan safari begins on the Borana Conservancy in Laikipia, one of the most exclusive places to safari in the country, with just a couple of lodges and a handful of private properties. The privately owned Lewa-Borana conservancy ecosystem is home to a great population of black and white rhinos, thanks to the pioneering conservation work taking place here, as well as other species endemic to the region.
In addition to game drives and walks, Borana Lodge has wonderful riding stables for those of all abilities, and with a 4-night stay, there is plenty of time to enjoy all of the other activities available. The lodge itself has a rustic-luxe aesthetic, with superb views from its elevated position.
In complete contrast, Rekero, in the heart of the Maasai Mara, is a traditional tented camp with an understated style yet overall very good quality. Its picturesque location on the banks of the Talek River make it a peaceful retreat from the action-packed game drives out on the plains, where the great wildebeest migration and their iconic river crossings are easily accessible July to September. While the Mara can get very busy, the excellent guiding from Rekero will ensure the some of the best wildlife experiences possible in this area.
