Purple Grenadier Safari in a nutshell
This 7-day safari brings together two very different parts of Kenya, but with a consistent overall quality by staying at two sister camps. Kicheche Laikipia and Kicheche Valley are small, classic, mid-range tented camps in very picturesque locations. The guiding is reliably top level, as the camps are used to hosting photographers and safari enthusiasts, as well as catering to families with special children’s activities. By combining these two camps, a special offer includes one night for free.
In the foothills of Mount Kenya, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy is one of the largest and most well-known in Laikipia, largely due to its fantastic conservation work of the rhino – and it’s home to the last two northern whites in the world. The conservation work here is admirable and well worth learning about, which is a possibility alongside horse riding, canoeing, mountain biking, walking and forest visits, as well as game drives of course, from Kicheche Laikipia.
The Naboisho Conservancy is home to Kicheche Valley, where the fantastic wildlife of the Maasai Mara ecosystem can be enjoyed from the relative privacy of a private conservancy. Day and night game drives are included here, as well as guided walks. For added adventure, consider incorporating a night of fly camping in the bush, or a hot-air balloon ride.

Northern White Rhinos visit
One hour, usually as part of your drive
Visit the Endangered Species Enclosure at Ol Pejeta Conservancy for a close encounter with the last two remaining northern white rhinos. You can visit either by game drive vehicle or visit on horseback if you're an experienced rider. Other rare species include Jackson's hartebeests and Grevy's zebras.
