Cape Mountain Zebra Self-drive Safari: Summary
Cape Mountain Zebra in a nutshell
With stays in four luxurious residences, this leisurely self-driven safari offers a comprehensive exploration of some of South Africa’s most stunning locations: combining fine dining with indulgent creature comforts, diversely beautiful landscapes and a gentle introduction to the continent’s local flora and fauna.
Beginning in Cape Town, the route first offers the opportunity to explore the cosmopolitan city and its breathtaking coastline. The opulent Camps Bay Retreat boasts stunning views over the sea, where winding paths lead through the private reserve’s lush woodlands and down to the nearby beaches and glens.
Next, the safari visits Bushman’s Kloof Wilderness Reserve, which is home to 35 mammal species and over 150 species of bird. Set between the Cedarberg Mountains and the vast plains of the Karoo, this luxury retreat offers a range of activities: from nature drives and canoeing to hiking and guided excursions to local San and Khoisan rock-art sites.
The next stop is Bablyonstoren, situated on a stylishly smart working wine farm between Franschhoek and Paarl, where guests will enjoy spacious interiors, superb views and delicious food.
The thatched Grootbos Garden Lodge concludes the safari, from where guests might explore the local caves, engage in a variety of walking or water based activities or simply sit and enjoy their view over South Atlantic’s Walker Bay.
