"Our amazing trip Feb 2016"
The professionalism of everyone who looked after us on this trip has been commendable and especially Dennis our guide who suffered our poor British humour for 3 days. He gave us the most wonderful experience and was just a joy to be with everyday.
He was a superb off road driver and the animals and sights in in the bush he showed us were unbelievable. He also shared such valuable information re the animals and how they live that it was just fascinating. Our 8 year old never once complained re sitting in a jeep for 5 hours so that just shows how interesting he was.
Breakfast in the bush was also a fabulous experience. Sitting at a table in the middle of nowhere listening to hyenas! Wow! And what wonderful food.
A spectacular trip! Thank you.

"A too short visit to an amazing country"
Many thanks to Tracey for supporting an excellent itinerary in a reduced time span at relatively short notice.
We were surprised but pleased to be met at Windhoek Airport by Costa from Wilderness safaris, who helped us through the vehicle pick up process. And the choice of vehicle was excellent (Toyota 4x4)
The marked route map was very valuable and we were also very pleased to have the Bradt Guide.
One small route point - the C12 from Fish River to the Keetmanshoop - Aus Road has now been rerouted to meet the main road 12 km from Seeheim - the old D545 - presumably to accommodate the traffic for the vast agricultural project. So Seeheim is now even more off the map but we had a good lunch stop there (or, rather ,coffee and apple cake!) and were well welcomed.
And a very minor point - most places don't provide hair dryers. It didn't matter to me but might affect others." Read full review: 9 nights in Africa; 7 on a Namibia trip
"Namibia Feb 16"
Great views great scenery. Beautiful game-but its not like the Mara or some where like that-because its very different climate." Read full review: 19 nights in Africa; 19 on a Namibia trip
"3 weeks in Namibia"
Amazing holiday, we will be back.
Holiday exceeded our expectations in almost every aspect. Stunning varied country. Charming people. Self driving much easier than expected regardless of the 3000km covered. Felt safe and secure at all times, Friendly well stocked garages. The exchange with GDP made this an extremely reasonable holiday.
Highlights.Nice Restaurant, Windhoek. Wolwedans Lodge. Anchors Restaurant, Walvis Bay. Doro Nawas. 3hr old baby elephant.
Lion kill, Hobatere. For comfort we recommend, Ongava, Musharraf & Okonjima Lodges. Grootberg was a disappointment and Oyster Box let down by it's staff." Read full review: 20 nights in Africa; 19 on a Namibia trip
"safari of safaris"
Certainly we felt we saw everything we should have and time was never wasted largely due to our excellent driver (Sadiq).
A brilliant trip which exceeded expectations and the one minor problem was quickly resolved on our return

"Our February 2016 Safari trip"
He was called Hilary and was really dreadful. He was H&S crazy. He would never allow us off the vehicle even in areas where other people were out of theirs, oh except when the vehicle would not start and we had to get out and push it. This happened twice. We know the risks and would never expect to be off vehicle in areas where there is an element of danger, after all this is our 10th safari.
He drove at a snails pace so that he would not actually get very far from camp. Every vehicle in the Serengeti overtook us. Every vehicle we met he stopped to talk to the guide. He spent half an hour one evening trying to extract another vehicle from a ditch, again people in the other vehicles were out of theirs, we were not allowed to do so. Later when my daughter wanted to take photos of a troop of baboons he told her our time was up. Even though he was knowledgagle mainly with regard to animals he rarely imparted information on wildlife unless asked and he was always either on his phone or radio talking to others. The last 3 days he made no attempt to spot game. He would drive past them without stopping as he did not see them.
We only had one sundowner for the whole week. We eat off dirty tables at picnic lunch as he could not be bothered to produce a tablecloth. Outside of this we had a lovely time." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 7 on a Zanzibar holiday

Our only suggestion is that our itinerary could have been improved so that we could have fitted in a trip to Swakomund in the same 10 day period." Read full review: 10 nights in Africa; 10 on a Namibia trip
