"It was an amazing trip, organised very well by Claire. She was very helpful when we found we had a 2 hr delay in leaving Heathrow. She contacted Skytrails so they knew we were probably going to be late and made sure I had the right phone numbers to call them once we had reached Johannes burg. "Apart from the lengthy air journeys, extremely enjoyable.

I was amazed at the depth of scientific knowledge of the guides and their professionalism, and I was very happy with the food and accommodation and the trouble everyone went to to make sure our needs were met. The countryside was lovely and the flora and fauna excellent.

"If I had lots of money, I would not do the same vendor (both Kwando camps) to experience something different; however, overall it was a great trip. Arrangements were flawless and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

I liked having regular mail contact with nick hobbs who dealt with things well. the info about changed flight times was invaluable and meant we could re confirm and didnt miss the flight back to harare which would otherwise have happened so thanks for that!!" "I can't thank Expert Africa enough for helping build the perfect itinerary for myself. Having never been to Kenya, I relied on Richard Trillo for guidance and boy did he deliver!

Everything ran smoothly and I also have to mention my driver Edward who collected me from the airport and drove me around for eight hours on my last day in Nairobi. Charming fellow and I felt very safe with him. Offbeat was a perfect start to my safari and Tassia was the best place to truly unwind and feel on vacation.

"This was the trip we have wanted to make for many years and I found the information regarding Expert Africa in a tour book in our local library. Since then, we have told everyone we know about this company. Every detail was taken care of and the tour was booked according to our wishes.

This was not a tour where we went on a specific route; we decided the area of Africa we wished to visit and what we hoped to see and they could advise us of the places we could stay. In our case we wanted to see elephants and the delta region and this area of Botswana was recommended.

We then checked their web site and decided on the camps. I called Maruska a few times and she was very helpful and answered all of my questions. The book on Botswana was written by Chris McIntyre for Brandt and there was much information on local customs and regions.

"We had a fantastic trip. Our first week was arranged by Expert Africa and the second week was spent at a hunting lodge. We had no notable problems from the time we left Atlanta until we returned. The 16 hour flight was not difficult (get economy comfort seats if possible) and we were able to easily adjust to the time changes. Water was safe to drink and the food was very good. People were friendly and many of them spoke good English. The animals in Etosha Park were amazing.

Probably the biggest challenge was driving on the "wrong" side of the road, shifting with my left hand, and turning on the windshield wipers instead of the turn signal! Most roads we traveled were paved and the gravel roads in the park were in good shape. Road signs, billboards, etc. are all in English. We traveled about 500 miles and driving yourself is easy. I highly recommend taking a car GPS and downloading the Tracks4Africa GPS map of Namibia (about $14.00 US). It was invaluable in getting around and knowing your arrival time at various destinations.

One issue was not having the most common power adapter. I had 3 sets, each with two adapters that "worked" in Africa. Although we could normally find one outlet that worked, none of the sets included the adapter that was most common. I think we needed a Type M (3 round pins in a triangular configuration).

We went to Africa prepared for the inevitable problems that we heard are common. However, we were very surprised and pleased with how smoothly everything went, especially considering that we stayed in 6 different places. "This was the most incredible experience of my lifetime. It was a very smooth experience from camp to camp with NO GLITCHES. Everything was perfectly planned and professionally executed. We felt safe while we also were exhilarated I would highly recommend this experience to those seeking adventure and a real taste of the bush and Africa.

The one comment for change is to offer some diverse activities to break it up a little. Offer something...cooking, yoga, anything!
