"Basecamp Maasai Mara review"

4 nights Arrived 4 Dec 2018
"The lodge was fantastic with excellent service. Our room was quite nice with an indoor and outdoor shower, toilet facilities, and a queen and twin bed. The tent around the room does a great job keeping bugs and monkeys out. The food was excellent, they offer packed breakfasts if you choose to stay out on a game drive.

The water pressure can be lacking at some points during the day when multiple people are utilizing the water. They have wifi in the reception building only. The rooms have an outlet strip to plug electronics into. The drive to and from the lodge is a bit longer than expected due to the routing through the village so it would be nice to get a bridge into the park back towards the restaurant.

Our guide's name was Steve. He was very knowledgeable not only on the animals but their behavior as well. He predicted the path of the animals quite well which allowed us to position ourselves for some great photographs. The truck was very comfortable with individual captain's seats which helped with a lot of the bouncing. He always had a cooler full of water for us in case we were thirsty." "A big let down after Eagle View. The camp itself is not bad but a bit tired.
Staff seemed uninterested, and gift shop expensive.
Food was ok .
Felt as if it was part of a frontier town" See all these reviews: 7n in Kenya
