"Zanzi Resort review"

"Zanzi was lovely. I think we were spoiled a bit at Ikuka, which might have coloured our experience.
The staff were very attentive and it was nice to have the option of meals and drinks in our villa, on the beach etc. The views and scenery/decor were lovely and we really enjoyed having our own private garden and pool.
Overall the food was very good- lots of choice for breakfast and lunch. Tasty evening meal options, lovely presentation. Food provided on the boat trip was slightly disappointing- cold toasted sandwiches and samosas several of which contained meat (not great for vegetarians!) Although we knew that there wasn't a beach, I think in hindsight this mattered more to us that we thought it was.
The jetty was picturesque but not that practical to swim from- e.g. ladder slippery and painful barnacles.
Staff very friendly and keen to please, but communication was sometimes difficult- e.g. boat trip. Miscommunication about what we would be able to see- sandbank submerged, no towels provided despite being told they were on the boat. Happy hour on the jetty was a nice idea, but no clarity about what was included, timings or cost.
Day trip to spice farm and Stone Town was good. Guide very knowledgable and friendly.
Massages as part of honeymoon package were great. Nice setting looking out over the ocean.
The honeymoon private dinner was a really lovely! They set up a beautiful table and decorations for us on the beach- it was a very special evening.
Resort manager was friendly and allowed us to have a late check-out on our final day and arranged our airport transfer, which went very smoothly." See all these reviews: 8n in Tanzania; 4n in Zanzibar
