Things to see on this map of North Luangwa National Park
A quick look at this map shows two safari camps (indicated by blue markers) alongside the Mwaleshi River, a crystal clear tributary of the Luangwa River that forms the eastern boundary of the park. The upstream camp is Kutandala Camp which is unfortunately no longer open, and further downstream is Mwaleshi Camp. Even when zoomed in it can be tricky to find any sign of this camp which is constructed from local reeds and thatch, allowing it to blend in perfectly with the landscape.
A broad look at the map shows the Muchinga Escarpment forming the western corner of the park, creating a hillier landscape to that found in South Luangwa National Park.
A detailed look across the rest of the park is unlikely to reveal many roads or tracks; instead only undisturbed grassland and rivers are seen, a result of guided walks being the only safaris on offer.
