Loldia House is a comfortable lakeshore lodge on the northwest side of Lake Naivasha in the heart of the Rift Valley. Built by Italian prisoners of war in the early 1940s, it consists of a main house and three further cottages in the gardens and a newer top cottage up the hillside. For many years, the house has been managed by Governors' Camps.

Our view of Loldia House

We've long wanted to stay at Loldia House, but didn't have the opportunity until 2018. The lodge did not disappoint. Despite the chilly, windy weather blowing off the lake, the welcome was warm and our whole stay was infused with enthusiasm and glowing hospitality. We found the rooms comfy, in an old-school way, like a reliable English country bed & breakfast that hasn't had a huge design makeover. And we loved the activities that we managed to pack into an overnight stay. The chance to stay here again for a bit longer – and relax – is one we will relish.
