Cheetah View: picture gallery

Cheetah View Lodge is the Cheetah Conservation Fund's new lodge situated in the central highlands.
Each of the five chalets has a small terrace to enjoy the surrounding bush...
...and views of the Waterberg Plateau.
Inside, the chalets are spacious with high ceilings...
...and twin beds, complete with mosquito nets.
The bathroom is open plan and decorated in neutral tones.
There is also small lounge at the front of the chalet with a sofa and an arm chair...
...and sliding glass doors to access the veranda.
The main area is a short walk from the chalets and is where all meals are eaten, either inside...
...or outside on the veranda.
It also has a view of the lodge's newly created waterhole.
The main activities here focus on the rescued cheetahs housed at the CCF.
Including watching some of the cheetah's exercised during the 'cheetah run'.
Watch from behind a low fence, inside an enclosure, allowing for great photo opportunities.
The cheetahs chase a lure pulled at speeds of up to 40km/h...
...which is then exchanged for meat on the end of a long wooden spoon...
...by one of the CCF staff.
The CCF also has a fantastic research and education centre...
...containing information not only about the wildlife of Namibia...
...but also the more specific work carried out by the CCF.
A tour of the CCF will also include a visit to the dancing goat creamery and...
...a look at the livestock guarding dog programme.
