Ideal for small groups or a very personal safari, Busanga Bush Camp is an intimate haven with just four tents and a main area looking out over the abundance of the plains. Witness sensational sunrises from camp as the sun-tinged mist reveals hundreds of red lechwe, puku, and other plains game feeding on the grasses.
Activities at Busanga Bushcamp
Busanga Bush Camp – Birding
Delight in birding as rosy-throated longclaws, and grey crowned cranes are usually commonplace sightings on drives.
Busanga Bush Camp – Boating *
Float through the channels at the beginning of the season when the floodplains are still filled with water.
Specially-adapted motorboats can be used in very low water levels allowing for excellent birding opportunities and viewing of hippo, lechwe and puku.
* Water levels permitting and mostly at the beginning of the season.
Busanga Bush Camp – Dining Under The Stars
The "dining room" is shaded by the canopy of a majestic tree from which an unusual lantern chandelier hangs, romantically illuminating dinner. Evenings often wind up fireside, under the stars, ending a day of adventure and matchless hospitality.
Busanga Bush Camp – Game Drives
Interpretive game drives in open 4x4 vehicles allow guests to view large numbers of plains game such as puku, red lechwe, buffalo, and wildebeest – even the rare roan antelope. The famed lions of Kafue that patrol this wilderness, cheetah, and wild dog may be seen as well.
Busanga Bush Camp – Night Drives
Led by a highly trained and knowledgeable guide, take in the clear night skies – and the night creatures – on a night drive. Glimpse into Busanga Plains’ unique, nocturnal world – a diverse range of species may be seen including genet, civet, owls, and occasionally the beguiling leopard.
