"Mixed bag"
The vehicle was great. I enjoyed the freedom of this self-drive vacation. Saw lots of wildlife and had some good interaction with Namibians apart from in the places we stayed.
We put 2323 km on our vehicle--probably 80% on gravel roads of varying condition. The highlights of the trip were the Cape Cross Seal Colony, the Skeleton Coast, Twyfelfontein pictographs, the Ongava hide, Etosha, and pangolin tracking at Okonjima.

"Flavour of Zimbabwe"
Matopo has some fabulous scenery, history and was a place to track rhino on foot - tick to all three. Rhino with calf was a highlight. It also gave us our best ever sighting of Elephant Shrew at Rhodes Grave! The National Park, however, has little game and incursions from cattle and humans are common. Locals roam the whole park on foot cutting grass for sale. It is still worth a visit and arguable needs more visitors to recover, so I’d still include it if you can.
Hwange with its pumped water holes and huge elephant population delivered more classic sightings, and a pride of lions with 6 cubs provided entertainment on all our game drives. Good antelope including Sable and Roan with huge buffalo herd of 500 plus were also a highlight. The open areas and mixed forest gave good variety to habitats.
Mana Pools was in drought in June so maybe not at its best. We were surprised at the number of self drivers and campers, some of whom are clearly not controlled effectively by the NP staff (much to the frustration of guides). No off road but you can off walk so great encounter with lions on a kill on foot was the highlight. If this is the jewel in the crown for Zimbabwe then it’s a little disappointing - at times it felt like a safari park - particularly as the unique environment offers so much.
Versus other neighbouring safari destinations, Zimbabwe still has some catching up to do if it is to return to its previous premier ranking. The amazing teams at African Bush Camps certainly warrant a visit." Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 9 on a Zimbabwe safari
"Holiday of a lifetime"
The Asila guides - Fazo in particular - are worth their weight in gold to show you a real authentic experience and not a tick-box encounter with animals. We saw so much and learnt so much.
All the accommodation was very good and we particularly liked the more authentic canvas tent experience that Kati Kati gave us as we really felt on safari then. Don't just opt for the big lodges!
Tanzania is so beautiful and the wildlife sublime. I was born there and had never been back but was overwhelmed by the positivity and humour of the Tanzanians.
The holiday exceeded all my expectations as I really felt that we had had a more authentic genuine trip and seen so much. it was very nice to finish down in Selous by the lakes and chill out a bit more while still going on game drives and boat trips.

I think you are all brilliant and don't know how you could improve.
The booking of the flights is complicated and we really appreciated Clare's imput as it is so difficult to understand distances/ times etc.
I have recommended your company to many of my friends - and Fazo our guide who was amazing - so thank you for making this special trip so amazing." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 13 on a Tanzania safari
"My Jun 2019 trip"
I had intended to do these bookings myself, but it was much easier, and very pleasant, to have Olivia's expertise!

We were very happy to have chosen Expert Africa. I can't make comparative comment about quotations as I didn't seek alternatives.
Likewise the feedback form, as we have no similar experiences to compare. It's certainly long, but I was forewarned by Trip Advisor-type comments!" Read full review: 7 nights in Africa; 7 on a Tanzania safari
"Family trip to SA in June/July 2019"
In hindsight, we regret not spending longer in Plettenberg Bay and would also have loved to spend a night or two in Prince Albert. At the expense of either Swellendam or Oudtshoorn; both of which towns were not as memorable.
Tracy was very helpful and gave great advice. If we travel to Africa again, we plan to use Expert Africa and have recommended it to several friends.
This was our second time to use Expert Africa. We travelled to Namibia in 2016.
Thank again" Read full review: 22 nights in Africa; 12 on a South Africa trip
"It was the trip of a lifetime. I loved it all"
The only thing I wished for was that we would have had a guide and a driver in the safari truck in Kigelia Camp. But Elli did his best to fill in what he could and we still had a good experience.
I have dreamed of coming to see the animals all my life and I wasn't disappointed in any way." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 8 on a Tanzania safari
"My Jun 2019 trip"
Tanzanian people are lovely and very desirous of Tanzania being a tourism destination. Very impressed with the staff, in particular the guides in both camps ( very knowledgeable and educational). All support staff were helpful and delightful." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 8 on a Tanzania safari
"The trip of a lifetime"
Everything worked perfectly - the hotel in Dar es Salaam, the connections to the interior and back.
The parks were excellent, the lodges were wonderful, the people were a real joy." Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 9 on a Tanzania safari
"Namibia road trip 2019"
All the locations were great but each had their own distinctive feel and character. The landscapes were more impressive than we had expected and it was a real thrill to get to see so many animals and birds up close.
The people throughout Namibia were very friendly and the staff in the lodges were all very welcoming and made us feel at home. Even things like car hire went very smoothly, with great service from the Bidvest staff.
We highly recommend Namibia as a fantastic destination and will definitely be using Expert Africa for any other African adventures which we may have.

The only thing I would change would be to hire a Toyota 4x4 or double cab next time.
The Nissan X Trail wasn't really robust enough for some of the rougher gravel roads." Read full review: 23 nights in Africa; 21 on a Namibia trip
