"Basic but welcoming"

2 nights Arrived 16 Oct 2019
"The only accommodation option for a visit to Loiyangalani and reaching Lake Turkana. Timothy was a very kind and attentive host.

The swimming pool fed by a natural hot spring is something else and a god-send for a late night dip to cool down before trying to sleep in such a hot and humid environment - a ceiling fan in the room would be a major improvement. But we were not looking for nor expecting luxury here in a spot barely reached by "tourists".

The chance to visit local villages and meet the people - El Molo and Turkana - plus to see the fabled Jade Sea with our own eyes was a once-in-a-lifetime trip, though it may just entice us back again in future!" See all these reviews: 10n in Kenya

"Oasis Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 12 Oct 2018
"Surrounded by miles of desert and accessed by a rough road, Oasis Lodge is remarkable for the facilities it is able to provide. Excellent staff working in challenging conditions support the weary traveller with cold beers and superb food. Only one of the pools was in operation on our visit, but it was very welcome. The rooms are small and very tired, but clean. The rooms have windows that are covered with an insect screen and opening the louvered panes allow for a very welcome draught while being mosquito free." See all these reviews: 7n in Kenya

"40 Years On!"

2 nights Arrived 6 Feb 2017
"This was a real trip down memory lane for us, and we were made extremely welcome by the Manager and by the Chef who could not do enough for us.

The naturally heated pool was idyllic." See all these reviews: 12n in Kenya

"Oasis Lodge, Loyangalani, Lake Turkana"

2 nights Arrived 28 Feb 2016
"We were the only guests and Patrick Rotich (the manager) and his staff made a huge effort to make us welcome. Oasis Lodge is well designed and truly an oasis after a long dusty journey.

The Lodge is well-located in Loyangalani and a welcome haven with a (warm!) swimming pool. We understand that Mr Leshan had sent the key staff all the way up from Nairobi especially to look after us. We greatly appreciated the friendly and hospitable way we were received and treated. Our only regret was that we were unable to stay longer; at least a week is required to be able to do justice to everything there is to be seen in this wonderful place.

To be well recommended; we hope to visit again." See all these reviews: 11n in Kenya; 5n in Tanzania
