"what an amazing first camp for our visit to Tanzania. the location was incredible as was our tent. we had a great view of the landscape. our guide, david, was extremely personable and knowledgable, resulting in a wide variety of game viewing. watching 2 cheetahs track and try to take down an impala was an unforgettable experience.
the staff at Oliver's were great as was the food. morning tea service was especially welcome."

"getting to the highlands requires quite a distance over bad roads. but the trip was well worth it. it is a lovely camp with great accommodations. we especially enjoyed the fireplace and the hot water bottles to chase away the nighttime cold. and it was chilly! quite different from our first camp.
service was excellent as was the food. and our trip into the ngorongoro crater was very special due to our guide. we saw a great variety of animals and birds. a fabulous experience."

exploring the ngorongoro crater was a wonderful experience. our guide was very knowledgable and we saw a wide variety of habitats, animals, and birds. for us, the variery of birds was a treat.

"Dunia camp was different from our previous camps in that it was a more authentic bush camp than the others. we enjoyed excellent facilities and food, and especially enjoyed a surprise breakfast in the bush. clever and fun.
our guide, Neema, was exceptional. road conditions were terrible from recent rains, but she managed beautifully. and the game we saw was fabulous, especially a pride of 5 male lions at a kill. can't say enough good things about Dunia."

"One of our main reasons for visiting Tanzania was to witness the wildebeest migration. Our stay at the fabulous Olakira camp made this happen! the camp itself is just what you would expect of a bush camp. Great tent accommodation, good food, and excellent staff. But it was our guide, daniel, who brought it all together.
We witnessed several crossings...an unforgettable experience. the masses of wildebeest, the sounds, and the excitement as they would begin to move. wow!
We saw lots of other game and birds while at Olakira. what a fabulous place!"

We love hot air ballooning and do it whenever we can. This was a magnificent experience with a top notch pilot who really knew his stuff. He made sure everyone had a view and identified what we were seeing. The Serengeti from on high is gorgeous.
This was very enjoyable with a champagne toast and breakfast to follow. Highly recommend.

"Rivertrees was our first and last accommodation in Tanzania. It is a delightful, well maintained inn with great service. They were especially gracious in allowing us to stay in our room until 5 pm when we left for the airport."

"what an amazing experience. i have been travelling to africa over the past 20 years and this was, by far, the most incredible experience i have had. the accommodation was all exceptional and the travel seamless. everything to make the trip easy was thought of.
the itinerary was exceptional, allowing us to see different aspects of botswana. we wouldn't have missed any of it. each was different with its own charm. the guides were all very professional and knowledgable. we experienced so much in terms of both flora and fauna.

"this was the first stop on our botswana adventure. we jumped off the plane onto a game drive and were instantly captivated. our guide, coco, was incredible, explaining the environment and the wildlife. a highlight was a short walk to view rock paintings, thousands of years old. and, after coming to africa for 20 years, i saw my first leopard on the first game drive. incredible.
the camp itself was well designed and extremely comfortable. our "tent" was wonderful, with all the comforts one could wish for. food was excellent, service impecable, and everyone friendly and helpful. in short, a perfect beginning."

"we loved machaba camp. the atmosphere was relaxed and fun with great facilities and service. it was like being part of a big family. loved our tent which enabled us to see all around us and to hear the night noises with no walls in the way. camping should always be like this. food was excellent and plentiful.
our guide, moreri, was terrific and ensured we had an unforgettable experience. a wild ride to spot a leopard before it disappeared into the bush was successful and we tracked him as he strolled, unconcerned, into a brush area where he settled down for a nap. thrilling. we saw a wide variety of wildlife and learned about the area and the small village nearby.

"splash was our least favorite camp. the chalets were totally enclosed and not as pleasant as tent facilities. that said, they were comfortable. we would have preferred a different design. however, the camp was well run and the facilities and food excellent.
this camp had a more regimented feel than the previous ones. we were told the single, long dining table was so guests would mix with and chat with other guests. however, we were directed to seating with the same people who we travelled with during the day, so no opportunity for real mixing.
our guide was excellent but not the same laid back temperment of our other guides. we did, however, see more at this camp than any of the others. also the fact we could travel off road meant we could follow game into the bush. exciting."

"definitely our favorite camp. an amazing view from our chalet, down to a water hole and beyond. when we arrived, the rains had just begun and you could instantly see a change in the environment. this experience was more about the environment and the little things rather than big game. we identified 40 species of birds...most of our previous guides did not emphasize that aspect. vasco was a font of knowledge. a leopard tortoise, 2 deadly snakes, and a double rainbow made this a completely different experience.
the camp itself was delightful, well equipped and great food and service. but it was the all day trip to a distant pan and an interpretative walk with a bushman/san guide which were the most memorable experiences. cannot say enough good things about this fabulous camp which rounded out our experiences in botswana. unfortunately this camp was seemingly not as popular as those in the delta. however, for us and those with whom we shared the experience, it was the best."
