Solio Lodge: video gallery

Solio Lodge: picture gallery

If our experience is anything to go by, you'll receive a warm welcome at Solio Lodge.
Solio is set in lovely gardens, with lawns in front looking out towards Mount Kenya.
The interiors are bright and modern...
…with the odd nod to the old Solio Ranch.
The main lounge and dining area is a single, large glass-fronted room...
…with comfortable seating by a fire at one end, and dining at the other.
Tucked up in the thatch, is a shop as well as a further seating area with lovely views.
Solio has six individual cottages...
…with twin or double beds.
All are modern, and thanks to the almost entirely glass front - very bright too.
The bedroom and lounge is open-plan, separated by a half wall...
…where a fridge stocked with drinks, glasses and a stereo for your iPod are all found.
A comfortable sofa is a central feature of each cottage...
… as well as a writing desk
Interesting pieces of art and furniture are present in every room - making them very individual.
The huge, bright bathrooms are spectacularly conceived, with twin basins...
… and a free-standing bath.
The walk-in rain shower has a more than ample flow of hot water.
The bathroom also has a separate toilet, and storage space for clothes.
There's seating in front of each cottage, ideal for watching the sun rise over Mount Kenya
Activities include drives, walks and horse-riding on the ranch.
One of the cottages has two, interconnecting bedrooms either side of a shared lounge.
The game viewing is very good on the ranch…
… with the phenomenal rhino population being the biggest draw and highlight.
