Ole-Sereni: picture gallery

The Ole-Sereni is a design-led hotel and one of the closest to Nairobi's International Airport.
The hotel is a 24-hour operation and full of shiny surfaces and gaudy décor.
Floor-lighting…
…and decorative motifs with an African flavour mix with…
…bold architecture…
…and striking sculptures…
…and paintings.
Formerly the US Embassy, security here is very good, with a downstairs lobby…
…and reception…
…on the first floor.
The rooms are accessed off long corridors on both sides of the elongated building.
The superior rooms are not particularly large…
…but they are comfortable, and well-equipped…
…and the shower and loo combos are clean and functional.
The club rooms are larger…
…but they are comfortable, and well-equipped…
…with bath tubs as well as showers…
…and small lounge 'alcoves'.
We found the food at Ole-Sereni very good…
…imaginative and professionally served…
…and they'll be up and ready for you no matter how early you want your breakfast.
As you'd expect in what is essentially an airport hotel, the bar is reasonably well stocked…
…and never closes.
No matter what time you arrive, or need to get up, you can expect service…
…and fellow diners and drinkers, as here on the terrace overlooking Nairobi National Park.
The terrace is one of the best features here, despite the relative paucity of wildlife.
The terrace also houses the swimming pool, which is a welcome asset on a hot afternoon.
