"Kenya in Nov. and Dec."
I visited Kenya between 30 Nov 2019 and 9 Dec 2019
"This was my 14 trip to Africa and my first time with Expert Africa. I do so appreciate the detail that Olivia put into my trip. She did listen to my expectations and desires for the type of safari that I wish to experience. The animal sightings and accommodations were excellent. The guides and camp staff paid attention to details and were very knowledgeable about all aspects of the trip. I appreciate that the camps were involved in community service and took the time to share their knowledge with me during my stay. I also appreciate that the camps were trying to be conscious of not polluting the environment and using solar power throughout camp.
The only suggestion I have is to get rid of the juice boxes and their plastic straws. Juice can be dispensed in glass containers too." Read full review: 9 nights in Africa; 9 on a Kenya safari

"Trip of a lifetime "
I visited Kenya between 29 Nov 2019 and 11 Dec 2019
"Incredible, unforgettable family vacation. If we had known how miraculous a safari trip would be, we would have found a way to scrape the money together decades ago.
My eleven year old daughter and my parents in their seventies were equally delighted and astonished. We visited Kenya during the short rains in early December and felt it was a perfect time of year to go. Incredible wildlife!!!!!" Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 12 on a Kenya safari

"My Nov 2019 trip"
I visited Kenya between 17 Nov 2019 and 5 Dec 2019
"The appalling weather - floods and incessant, torrential rain, awful driving conditions for guide and passengers, shocking light and apocalyptic rain for the most part was hard to manage from a photographic standpoint and that was a big part of the trip.
Of course there were some breaks in the weather but over a three week period it was tough to only have one day without rain [it rained in the evening] and the condones in The Mara simply deteriorated the more rain that fell. Certain parts were off limits as impossible to drive, rivers were impossible for cars and wildlife to cross - the birds were happy as there as access to food was such that they were fishing everywhere" Read full review: 18 nights in Africa; 16 on a Kenya safari

"Nancie Wight tour"
I visited Kenya between 31 Oct 2019 and 14 Nov 2019
"This was an amazing adventure for our family and we are grateful to Richard Trillo for his efficient and thoughtful planning of our trip.
Nancie Wight was our guide on the ground and she is wonderful! From her expert photographic advice to her warm, welcoming (and fun!) manner, we could not ask for a better host!
We are already thinking about our return in 2021!

"Great Experience"
I visited Kenya between 25 Oct 2019 and 2 Nov 2019
"Expert Africa provided us with a wonderful and very comprehensive wildlife experience in a short, one week safari.
We stayed in a luxury traditional lodge, as well as a small, bush tent camp. Between the two experiences we saw all the big five, and many more animals as well. We saw the endangered rhinos and Grevey zebras, as well as a pair of leopards matting, cheetah cubs, and the wildebeests on their endless marches.
I don't think much more could have been packed into one week." Read full review: 8 nights in Africa; 8 on a Kenya safari

"Oct/Nov 2019 trip"
I visited Kenya and 2 other countries between 21 Oct 2019 and 10 Nov 2019
"We had a wonderful trip with many momentous adventures but quite a lot more tedious jeep rides than we had bargained for, especially in the Kenya portion where the distances between camps was several hours on washed out roads only to find out when we arrived that the next activity would be a jeep ride! This was disappointing as I had been quite clear that that what I was exactly what I was trying to avoid.
The biggest issue was that Olivia had not made clear to me the consequences of the rainy season. I thought it just meant that it would rain a bit during the day and we would get wet, something I don't care about. What it really meant is that the bush would be so green and thick that animals would be extremely hard to see, that water would be so readily available everywhere that animals would be widely dispersed across hundreds of thousands of acres, and therefore hard to find, that the bugs would be fierce. and that the normally rough, bumpy roads would be so deeply rutted and washed out hat driving was bone crushing. And, as I noted in my comments about Sarara, some activities such as the Singing Wells, were not possible. No one can control the weather but if I had known what the rainy season was really like I don't think I would have taken the chance of traveling in the shoulder season. Since we were the only guests at a number of places, i felt everybody else had gotten the memo except us!
Also, some of the logistics could have been worked out better. Though the three Samburu camps look equidistant on a map, in fact it made no sense to go to Saruni Rhino last instead of Sarani Samburu, which is quite close to the airstrip.By going there last, it added another 2 and a half hour jeep trip on washed out roads to get back to the airstrip we had just come from two days earlier.
Finally, we were never told that the trip from Saruni Rhino to Plantation Lodge would be over 10 hours. We were shocked to discover on arrival at Kilamijaro that our jeep ride was over 4 hours. I can't believe there was not a scheduled or even charter flight from Kili to Manyara. In any event, no one told us about the length of the trip and we had no food from 8 AM till 6:30 PM expect for the driver's small pack of Pringles. I expected better attention to logistics.
With the exception of Stone Town, all the places we stayed were great. I just wish we had done the trip a different year when we could have done it at the right time." Read full review: 20 nights in Africa; 7 on a Kenya safari
