Lovebird Fly-in Safari

Visit two consistently impressive wildlife destinations during this excellent-value safari in northern Tanzania. Enjoy a range of walks and cultural visits from sister camps at the Ngorongoro Crater and in the heart of the Serengeti.

Lovebird Fly-in Safari: Summary

Lovebird safari in a nutshell

This fly-in safari encompasses two of the most promising wildlife destinations in northern Tanzania for excellent value: the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Serengeti National Park. Two stylish sister camps have been selected within these parks, enabling guests to benefit from seasonal discounts and a consistency in style, quality and management throughout.

Beginning at Lemala Ngorongoro, guests can enjoy spectacular views over the forested slopes of the quiet eastern rim. The nine-bedroom camp is positioned near to the Sopa "descent road", which provides guests with fast access to the crater floor each morning, allowing for periods of relatively quiet game viewing. There is no shortage of exciting wildlife sightings within this rich ecosystem, which is especially dense in large mammals: big cats are abundant, and it is even possible to spot the elusive black rhino.

Guests will then fly to Lemala Ewanjan which is located in central Seronera, at the heart of the Serengeti’s action. Roamed by a variety of big mammals and plains game, these iconic grasslands are popular for consistently excellent game and for the possibility of migration sightings.

With hikes to local Maasai villages and crater-rim walks also available, this trip makes for a well-rounded and excellent-value safari in two of northern Tanzania’s most popular safari destinations.

Lemala Ngorongoro

Days 1-3

Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp is located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on the quiet, eastern side of the crater rim, a short drive past the Lemala Gate. Set in a grove of red-thorn acacia trees, the camp has more of a bush feel than many camps in this area of Tanzania, with plenty of birdlife and frequent visits by buffalo and elephant at night. Although Lemala doesn't have direct views over the crater, it does have views – mist and clouds permitting – through the forests in the opposite direction.

Lemala Ewanjan

Days 3-6

Opened in 2010, Lemala Ewanjan is well-located in the central Seronera area of the Serengeti in Tanzania, which has a good variety of resident game. It's an uncomplicated and comfortable camp, with lovely views of the sun setting over the plains.
