Busanga Safari

Busanga Safari: In full

This Zambia safari holiday visits Kafue National Park, one of the world’s largest parks. The Busanga Plains in the most northern part of Kafue boasts large herds of the elusive roan antelope, and offers visitors their best chance of seeing cheetah on a Zambian safari. Base yourself at Busanga Bushcamp - an exclusive and rustic bushcamp with uninterrupted views over the plains; a perfect setup for watching the sun come up over a simple buffet breakfast.

Days 1-4

4 nights at Busanga Bushcamp (full board & activities) | Kafue National Park, Zambia

The Busanga Bushcamp accommodates up to eight guests in four pole-and-thatch chalets.Following your arrival in Lusaka with your own flights, you are met and flown by small aircraft to Busanga Plains’ local airstrip. You are met by a safari guide and driven back to camp, which is hidden amongst wild date palms and giant sycamore fig trees. Stay in one of Busanga’s pole-and-canvas chalets for four nights, and during this time experience both day and night drives in open 4WD vehicles. During the wetter months there is also the possibility of boat trips, and for birdwatchers this can be an exciting spot, particularly at the beginning of the season in June when areas of the plains can still be flooded. Water-bird species such as saddle-billed storks and wattled cranes are there in high density.

Day 5

On your last morning in Busanga Bushcamp, you’ll have an early start, with breakfast in camp before being driven back to the airstrip for your flight back to Lusaka. On arrival in Lusaka you will continue under your own arrangements.
