Helicopter Flight - Zambia

Helicopter Flight - Zambia

Overview: Helicopter Flight - Zambia

Flying over the Victoria Falls is a wonderful experience, allowing you to take in the full scale and majesty of one of the world’s biggest and most famous waterfalls. There are a variety of options available, with variable flight lengths but the scenic flights, often known as the Flight of the Angels are the most popular:

Flight of the Angels - short flight

Named after the famous diary entry of David Livingstone, who described the views of the Victoria Falls as ‘scenes so lovely they must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight’, this flight focuses on the falls themselves. During the flight the pilot will fly figure of eight circuits in front of and over the Falls so that all passengers have the best possible opportunities to see, photograph and video the Falls.

Flight of the Angels - extended flight

As the name suggest, this is a longer trip which includes the same initial flight over the Falls, but then the pilot will turn and fly downstream, taking in the stunning geology of the Batoka Gorge, one of the several points at which the Zambezi River has carved its path into the landscape. Circling around, the pilot will then fly along the Zambezi River towards the rapids, before flying back above the falls and over the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, allowing a birds eye view of any elephants, hippo and crocodile below.

Charter Flights:

Private helicopter charters are also available in the Victoria Falls area, allowing you to have a more personal experience of the flights on offer, or you can design your own trip. Some guests wish to arrive at their lodge or hotel in style, others taking part in different activities are able to be collected and enjoy a scenic flight on their way back to the drop-off spot. Swoops into the Batoka Gorge can also be included.
