"This trip was designed to blend new places with old friends and it worked very well. We certainly enjoyed our return trip and it was interesting going back to some of the places we visited last time to see how they had developed.

Etosha turned out not to be as busy as expected and many times we had the pleasure of viewing waterholes alone. With one exception the camps we stayed in did not disappoint and the gravel driving was a feature of the trip not something to be feared. "Trip was extremely well put together. Claire was very efficient and could not have been more helpful.

We had an issue with the transfer from Kaingo to Rukomechi. With hindsight had we realized it would take over 11 hours we would have probably made a different decision about the combination of Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Secondly, there was a mix-up between Executive Air (Safari Logistics) and the booking for the transfer from Mana Pools Airstrip to Hwange. The plane arrived at 11:00 AM, which was his scheduled arrival according to his sheet but was an hour before we were expected to be picked up. Luckily the pilot waited for us and the two other passengers. We arrived at Hwange Airport at 2:15pm and there was no vehicle there from Camp Hwange. Again the pilot waited as he did not want to leave us at a closed airport building with no means of contacting the Camp. Finally a vehicle arrived at 3:15 pm.(the driver said he had been told to arrive for 3:30pm). The pilot Janade Krarim left with the other two passengers bound for Victoria Falls. "Fantastic holiday....worth every penny!

The only comment I could make is that Travellers should be informed that they must always bring wet weather gear regardless of season rather than just giving a "suggestion". When it rains it really rains and we were there in the dry season!

"Very satisfactory.

The number of animals and birds we saw was amazing. Guides and trackers very knowledgeable and considerate. My only complaint is that I now have 1,500 photos to sort out!

Megan was extremely helpful with organising our travel arrangements and the camps we stayed - it would have been difficult to choose the camps from your brochure without her help. "A lot of travelling (and expensive) for a short trip but wonderful when we were there.

Object was to see the migration. I guess this is a bit hit and miss and, this year at least, we would have been better 3 or 4 weeks earlier. We saw what we wanted but I suppose it could be a disappointment if you were unlucky.

All in all an unforgettable trip - something I always wanted to do.

"Overall the trip was incredible!! We will definitely be back. T

he only thing we will change next time is to do private vehicles. It is more expensive, but it gives you much more freedom to stay and watch more animal behavior. The other thing I noticed, which could just be variation, is that there appeared to be more game in Oct than August. This may be because it was drier and hotter in Oct. However, we actually saw many more cats the August trip, than the previous trip in October.

"We had an amazing time and it certainly surpassed our expectations. We feel that both places were the real Africa and were not touristy, sterile hotels.

We were made to feel very welcome.

It was a very good service and Liz [Ed: of Expert Africa] was very helpful. We probably would not have known about Ras Kutani without her and Expert Africa.This was a good alternative to Zanzibar.
