An acceptabl;e stop-over hotel
Drinks and food are expensive, but otherwise it was clean and confortable, and the staff were very courteous.
The shuttle bus was waiting for us on arrival, and having double-double checked the night before, it was also waiting for us next morning at 5.30am as requested. Allow at least 20 mins to checkout at that time of the morning! There seems to be lots of paperwork.

Standard business hotel, just used as jumping off point for the next days flight.
The wait when ordering food/drinks etc was too long. 45 minutes for a coffee?
The hotel provided a luxurious night to end our holiday before our long flight to London in the morning.
Arrangements to transport us to and from Lusaka airport all went very smoothly and it was interesting to get a brief glimpse of the city as we drove to and from the hotel.
OK for i night before the flight home
Suited the ourpose. Pity had to catch 5:30 transport for 8:50 departure. Computer broke down so was unable to pay 'extras bill'. I expect it will catch up with us sometime!Read more about the whole trip
Pleasant city hotel
Efficient, well run.
Nice bar for pre-dinner drinks and snacks. Excellent big pool. Fantastic and very reasonably priced massages in health centre
functional but acceptable rooms, with good view. Good buffet breakfast.
Failed to collect us from the airport on arrival and had to be chased up - almost an hour's wait. Shuttle to airport on morning of return flight to UK of no use, leaving at 5.30 (less than half an hour journey) for a 8.50 flight.
We ate out (Lusaka Club) - taxi easily obtained at hotel.
Modern business hotel.
Comfortable, all usual facilities, good staff, good beauty salon.
This hotel was in exactly the right position for me to revisit the part of Lusaka where I lived 40 years ago.
Back in civilisation
If one has to return from the bush to civilisation, this hotel is the best place to do it in.
A fairly typical large business orientated hotel that is clean, friendly and with some nice restaurants. Excellent service.
Posh but lacking in some areas
Looked fabulous. Problems with next morning's shuttle; had to get manager to sort out. They wanted us to leave hotel at 5a.m. for 9-ish flight; original receptionist was less than willing to help at all. Her supervisor was wonderful and arranged another time (which others took advantage of, too!). She helped up arrange a trip to the cultural/craft center.
Steaks 'n' Grill restaurant had no game, though it was on the menu. Food available was great. No indication about whether to drink the water in hotel -- everyone we mentioned it to said Lusaka water NOT good to drink! Lynne fought diarrhea for two weeks as a result. Breakfast not ready at 5.30; supposedly began at 5!
Overnight at Taj Pamodzi
Slight disappointment here. Firstly there was no-one to meet us even although our flight was on time. Someone from the Norman-Carr Safaris office helped us out by calling the hotel and allowing us to use their comfy seats. (This person was also extremely helpful when we arrived in Lusaka and coul not find the stamped copy of our visa waiver). A hotel driver turned up about an hour later.
Secondly the hotel tried to charge us again for our accommodation.
Thirdly the food (Indian Buffet) was luke warm, even although we ate at the beginning of the evening.
The transfer back to the airport was much more efficient.
