Africa: Reviews from our travellers

"Classic safari in the Masai Mara"
Although we had used Expert Africa a few times this was our first trip out of southern Africa. As ever, the organisation was flawless and Jessica's advice when planning was accurate and very helpful.
We particularly appreciate the way Expert Africa encourage (and make it easy) to contact them by phone to discuss what you are looking for in (patient) detail with someone who has personal experience of the are and lodges - yes their website is really excellent and the perfect starting point but nothing beats talking to someone who's been there and who can engage with your own individual preferences and expectations." "My Sep 2022 trip"
We would have not experienced something like this if Tom had not made my wife and I extremely confident about the expertise of Expert Africa, and they exceeded our expectations beyond imagination.
Tom and Expert Africa would be my first choice for any trip like this in the future." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 11 on a Zimbabwe safari
"My Sep 2022 trip"
Three things could have been improved on; the first two I have mentioned - the cold nights on the Endeka Walking trail, and the rather expensive misinformation at Okonjima. The third is the fact that nobody from Wilderness Travel met us at the airport in Windhoek. This need not have been a problem, had we known that they had an office at the airport. As it was we hung around hopefully , and finally found someone to ask, and they pointed us the way to the office. Nobody seemed to be expecting us!" Will be back!" Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 11 on a Kenya safari
"Finally we got to Botswana"
We all used wooly hats and gloves first thing so thank you for the advice. The glass water bottles they provided were heavy and breakable so we did not use them. Laundry was efficient. Ridiculously small wash basins at Tau pan meant it was difficult to wash your "smalls". Expert Africa's beautiful travel wallet was left behind - with only 15 kgs allowed did not need another 250gms! All in all, a very special anniversary trip which was well planned and in the correct order.
Tau pan gave us a bottle of champagne and Splash organised a special last night anniversary dinner for the 4 of us and we made sure Moz, our guide, joined us too as we got on so well with him.
We enjoyed the singing and dancing at all the camps - many of the songs were directed at us personally.
We have now done many trips with Expert Africa, and come back to you because of your experience and knowledge of the countries and camps and advice on where to go next." Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 9 on a Botswana safari
"My Sep 2022 trip"
Our fourth visit to Tanzania as good as ever with two unique wilderness destinations and loved being truly off grid.
Qatar flights via Doha were the best route we’ve used." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 10 on a Tanzania safari
"My Sep 2022 trip"
Sabina was excellent in rearranging our accommodation three times and it was lovely to actually meet her in Windhoek.
We are already thinking about a return journey where we'd like to take in Caprivi & Victoria Falls..." Read full review: 20 nights in Africa; 18 on a Namibia trip
"Our Sept 2022 Safari trip"
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at each venue, and felt that the set up was very much to our liking.
Would do it again in a minute!
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
No, we were completely satisfied with the services Tom provided." Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 8 on a Zimbabwe safari
"My Sep 2022 trip"
The people are so welcoming, polite and friendly. The camps were all very well run with excellent food and facilities. The internal flights were well organised and efficient, albeit with lots of stops!
As we do quite a lot of self-guided, self-drive safaris, it was nice to go to camps with an emphasis on photography, so that they would position the vehicle as we would if we were driving and in a few instances, suggest angles that we hadn't thought of." "Zimbabwe - at last !"
As in life in general, there were ups and downs - Bumi Hills was a massive surprise in a good way and Nyamatusi/ Mana Pools was a disappointment.
Overall we enjoyed it hugely and it was really nice to be back in Africa again." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 11 on a Zimbabwe safari
