"Muchenje Safari Lodge review"

3 nights Arrived 4 Sep 2015
"This lodge is a one in a lifetime holiday venue, there was so much to see and do, and sometimes it's a little exhausting, we were out all the 3 days we were there and returned to the lodge usually about 6 pm, there was no flexibility with the evening meal and I found it a rush to be at the dinner table with everyone else for the comunial dining , all the staff were very knowledgable and the trips out fantastic. Nothing was to much trouble." See all these reviews: 3n in Botswana; 2n in Zambia; 1n in South Africa

"National Park experience at Muchenje Lodge"

2 nights Arrived 12 Aug 2015
"Nice camp but unfortunately not what we were expected after Kwara and Selinda Explorers.

As this is a lodge, rooms are real chalets and the camp is not in the middle of nature with animals going in and out the camp. More, the camp is quite big (around 10-12 chalets), which is not a must for intimacy.

Service was fine and staff was friendly. Special thanks to both Paul and Banyana who took care of us - Paul was not our guide but he proposed to organize a walking safari for us as he saw we were a little bit disappointed but the king of safaris available here (no off-road in the National Park, impossible to track predators, you have to stay on the road).

Overall, this is a good camp (rooms are big and clean, view is amazing, there is a swimming pool, wifi, etc.) but it's better to begin by a camp like this one rather than finish by it, especially when you went to private concessions before.

Game viewing is average, except for the cruise during which you can see elephants, hippos, buffalos and crocodiles very closely" See all these reviews: 6n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Great Collection of African Art and Craft"

2 nights Arrived 10 Jul 2015
"The cabins here are more substantial than some others with actual glass windows. This obviously meant they were warmer than others we stayed in. The beds and rooms were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and capable. The food was good quality home cooking with good options. We saw a multitude of giraffes and lions here among other creatures. The last day on the drive along the river we also saw plenty of hippos and elephants and buffalo of course.

The managers have decorated this camp with some really beautiful sculptures and craft collected over the years and there are good options for purchase as well." See all these reviews: 6n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe; 2n in Namibia

"Muchenje Safari Lodge review"

3 nights Arrived 17 Apr 2015
"We loved Muchenje. The location was beyond words. It was outside of the park and further away from Kasane, which was nice. It was quiet, relaxed and the views were incredible. The people who currently run the lodge, Robert and Joy, were friendly and went out of their way to make sure everyone was having a wonderful time.

Our safari guide, Synack, was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. I can't say enough good things about him. I would highly recommend the early morning game drive, and the river cruise is an absolute must. The food at the lodge also was very good. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Muchenje, and would without a doubt stay there again.

The only thing I wished I had known more about before we arrived was how much to tip. Different online forums mentioned $10 per person (guest) per day, but we didn't think that was nearly enough considering we basically had our own personal safari guide the entire time we were there." "Muchenje Safari Lodge review"

3 nights Arrived 4 Mar 2015
"A brilliant location overlooking the Namibian border with flood plain below , just outside the designated National Park area ,As the park is unfenced the animals still roam around in abundance. The lodge is well run by an English couple Rob and Joy who could not do enough to made sure you enjoyed your stay.

The boat trip was the highlight seeing hundreds of Elephants playing in the river . The room was fine and food excellent." See all these reviews: 7n in Botswana; 6n in Namibia

"Muchenje Safari Lodge review"

3 nights Arrived 20 Nov 2014
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Muchenje. The lodge has a real fun atmosphere, mainly down to its great managers, Robert and Joy.

We had a brilliant day trip out from 9-30am - 7pm cruising around the River Chobe channels and driving the length of Chobe NP where we saw numorous elephants. The following day we took packed breakfast and were out from 5-30am - 2-30pm, so much to see, hundreds of elephant , lion, leopard (very lucky), sable and finally wild dogs (exceptionally lucky) beside the road on the way back to the lodge.

Our guide Symack was excellent, and quite happy to stay out as long as we wanted to." See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana; 1n in Zimbabwe

"Muchenje Safari Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 18 Nov 2014
"We spent 2 days at Muchenje and although it was more exclusive than other places, I thought it was not good value!

The rooms were nice . and the owners friendly and helpful.. The guides were average and the wild life OK, but by no means exceptional. The vegetarian food was OK at night (stuffed tomato one day and stuffed aubergine on the next). The picnic lunch on the who;e day out was terrible. We received 2 small pieces of pizza 3 x 2 " and one hard boiled egg/ Meat eaters got 2 small chicken drumsticks. I got nothing! This was to last 11 hours. We did mention it to the lodge but heard nothing more.

The guide who did the early morning walking tours was the most knowledgeable. The night drive was done too fast with no spotted and we saw very little. It is not in the park and the area limited" See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia; 4n in Botswana
