"A short stay at Waterberg started our holiday"

1 night Arrived 26 Jul 2009
"The accommodation was excellent - obviously recently refurbished. But the food was no more than average. And the service - both at reception and in the restaurant varied a bit - some people were very friendly, others a bit indifferent.

There was a lovely terrace outside the restaurant, but it was a shame that it wasn't actually open in the morning for a cup of coffee! We did enjoy watching a group of mongooses playing there while we were killing time." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia; 5n in Botswana

"Waterberg Camp review"

1 night Arrived 13 May 2009
"We were pleasantly surprised by this government run facility.

The staff were very friendly and the room was basic but very clean.

The walks surrounding the camp were pleasant and the walk to the top of the escarpment is a must." See all these reviews: 7n in Namibia

"Great views from plateau"

2 nights Arrived 5 Oct 2008
"Reception chaotic on arrival as lots of people being served at same time, staff there though were helpful and friendly.

Restuarant in beautiful building, food good and new management team seeking to welcome guests. Pool and surrounding area needs attention, pool was deep green and uninviting and insufficient seats etc.

Hiking is a delight and views specacular at top of plateau. Other than that, wildlife hard to see and not much to do at evenings. Rooms are not air conditioned and although having a fan, it is insufficient given the heat to get a good night sleep." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"Waterberg Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 9 Aug 2008
"At Waterberg the staff were friendly and the food was acceptable. The chalets were comfortable, if rather sparse and dimly-lit.

We had an interesting evening drive up to the plateau with an NWR driver/guide. On the whole, though, Waterberg was my least favourite place. It's quite cold at this time of year and the trees make the restcamp gloomy - the bird life was disappointing, too." See all these reviews: 18n in Namibia

"Waterberg Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 16 Jul 2008
"We thought Bradt perhaps too lukewarm about this camp - particularly in making no mention of it's history, viz the German Cemetery and the origins of the buildings now used as restaurant and bar.

We found the staff friendly and helpful, the views superb and the rooms comfortable. The baboons, admittedly, were a nuisance.

We had been warned that the after noon drive on the plateau was likely to be far more concerned with flora than fauna.
In the event we saw white rhino, sable antelope and buffalo as well as the more normal suspects! We were certainly lucky, but Waterberg should not be too readily talked down." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
