overnight stay on arrival in Windhoek

Galton House is a clean and compact hotel ideal for an overnight stay on arrival or before flying out of Windhoek.

The welcome was warm, and the food was pleasant. The bread at breakfast was fabulous.

Lovely guest house & very helpful staff

Because of issues with missing driving licences & car hire we stayed 2 rather than one night at Galton House. The guest house is beautifully appointed - spacious rooms, indoor seating area, dining room, honesty bar/tea & coffee facilities, pool & outside seating. Breakfast was good and we had a very nice meal on the first evening - we also appreciated the complimentary tea & cake offered mid afternoon.

But the really outstanding feature was the help and encouragement we received from Helen and her staff at the point where it looked as though our whole trip might fall apart because of the car hire problem.

They kept us feeling positive, gave us access to their computer and printer, fielded calls from Expert Africa and Bidvest, suggested contacting the British Consulate, collected faxes, advised on contacting the Namibian police and organised taxis to the police station and later for us to eat out. They could not have done more for us.

We hope one day to go back and enjoy the guest house and see Windhoek properly - without the distraction of travel problems.

Galton House review

We had some difficulty finding Galton House - more detailed instruction would have been useful!

A very nicely designed, relaxed place- but our room ( No 6 ) was very small and noisy. (A generator all night next door- and power showers at 6am in next room!)

Super swimming pool for a small place- much appreciated.

Very helpful manager. Nice sitting-around area...

Good for one night.

Stylish guest house in the capital

Very stylish and comfortable boutique guest house.

Lovely ensuite rooms, refreshing pool, delicious locally sourced food, including a freshly-baked cake for afternoon tea.....& a good packed breakfast (ready at 4.30a.m) for our very early departure to the airport

Comfortable stay at Galton House

Friendly welcome from Helen. Shown to the elegantly decorated room 5, which suffers a little from a rather small bathroom. We enjoyed a couple of beers by the pool.

Helen arranged a taxi to take us to the excellent Joe's Beerhouse (thoroughly recommended). Good breakfast.

No problem for Helen to give us directions to find the route south out of Windhoek.

Comfortable place for a night in Windhoek

This is a smart house to stay at before flying out of Windhoek in a quiet residential area. The meals are effectively served in an open plan kitchen/dining area. Breakfast was fine but we didn't feel there was any atmosphere so ate out in Windhoek, at the well known Joes Beerhouse.

The room was quite small but well appointed and very comfortable.

The manager, Eddie, was very attentive and runs the place well.

Galton House was a good Windhoek choice

We spent our first night in Namibia here. following a long journey.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a very spacious room by the pool and a very pleasant meal in the evening. Overall we were very pleased.
