A bit out of the way

We seemed to be the only ones staying at Galton House , it felt in the middle of nowhere and we were given a tiny room, considering there were other empty ones.

The staff were friendly and helpful.

We did not want to return for our last night on the way back.

Quiet, clean and peaceful hotel

It was a great place to sort ourselves out for the flight home at the end of the holiday. Although it is a city hotel and doesn't have the stunning views of some of the lodges in Namibia, the location was quiet and felt safe. Rooms were spacious and clean with good showers. There were nice touches such as a tradiitional story and homemade sweets left in the room in the evening.
The small pool was a nice place to cool down.

Breakfast good and staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't eat here in the evening as we wanted to go to Joe's Beerhourse but the staff were happy to book a table for us there. Helen (I think this was her name) was very welcoming.

Our room here at the end of the holiday was beside the carpark but was convenient for loading the car up.

The hotel was easy to find and just a short drive from the city centre.

[Ed: This review is largely a repeat of a review below as these travellers stayed here twice: once at the start of their trip, and again at the end.]

Galton House

Our last night in Namibia !

We found the rooms a bit bare , very modern. The outside seating overlooked the parking area which we also found a bit stark - no plants or flowers to make it more welcoming.

We were not shown the pool, probably because it was raining. We had to leave early the next morning. We assumed the pool would be closed due to the water issues but perhaps not as per Mr B's review from 1st April ?
As it was a Sunday night we did not want to have to go out for dinner so we ate in - perfectly nice food - just not much of it !

All in all - a slightly disappointing stay given that Galton house has a higher rating that Sonneneck (where we stayed on the first night).

Galton House review

Perfect start to the trip. The rooms were modern and extremely comfortable, the pool was lovely and the staff could not have been more helpful. We did not have dinner but we had a delicious light lunch and a lovely breakfast.

Galton House review

This was a great one night stop after our flights from Canada. The facilities. rooms and staff were great and the location was convenient.

We would surely go back if spending any time in Windhoek.

Great little place in Windhoek!

We had a great one night stay in Windhoek after a very long trip to Namibia. Helen was an excellent host and made us reservations at Joe's Beerhouse along with a taxi to take us to and from. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a straight-forward, yet tasty breakfast the next morning to start our trip.

Galton House

Quiet residential and scenic area of Windhoek.

Perfect for us being in transit from our photography tour to our private northern Namibia tour since we only needed a one night stay.

However, if someone wanted to be nearer to downtown activities, it's too far away, a 10-15 minute drive.
