"Luxury in the Winelands"

2 nights Arrived 23 Sep 2014
"Possibly the nicest place we have ever stayed. Similar to the Inn at Little Washington in Virginia.

Our host, Conrad, made us feel genteelly at home. He helped with all aspects of our visit to Franschoek--dinner reservations, wineries, etc. Our rooms were so beautiful that we took photographs. In the heart of town, walking distance to fine restaurants, but quiet and secluded. First class service from all the staff, and delicious breakfast." "The Last Word Franschoek"

1 night Arrived 2 May 2014
"We loved everything about this place--location, design, decor, staff. It was our favorite lodging on the entire trip. The staff briefed us on the place, the recent flood and recovery, and addition of new rooms, highlights of the town. We could walk to everything we wanted to do in Franschoek. The rooms were very large and well appointed in a five star manner. The creme brulee waiting on our pillows when we returned from dinner was a touch we will not forget.

We had dinner at The Tasting Room and it was superb and one we will repeat next year with our group. What we would like to add next year is a winery visit with an excellent presentation about wine making and a tasting. We had lunch at The Post Card Cafe at a winery near Stellenbosch which was a magical setting on the lawn of the winery overlooking mountains. We will repeat this next year as well. We also will arrange a meeting with friends at Stellenbosch University for a morning while we are there and maybe combine that with lunch at The Post Card Cafe." "The Last Word Franschoek review"

2 nights Arrived 9 Oct 2013
"Disabled persons view: Good level access to room and dining room.

On arriving we were rather bombarded with information about the facilities and room - the basics would have been enough - we can always ask if we have a problem. The location on the main street, whilst close to shops and restaurants, meant a fair bit of noise if you were sitting on your patio. Parking space is a little tight.

Excellent breakfast, so much to choose from and I can't say no even when I'm full." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 9n in South Africa

"The Last Word Franschoek review"

2 nights Arrived 2 Apr 2013
"A wonderful end to our holiday. Stayed 2 nights and wished it could of been longer.

Room was beautiful and we stayed over my birthday so that night they lit candles and left champagne in our room. Franschoek was a lovely little town and the vineyards in the area were excellent. A perfect centre to do wine and food." See all these reviews: 9n in South Africa
