Eningu Clayhouse review

We only stayed one night but were very glad we did. Delightful hostess Bettina. Attractive quirky design. Nice pool.

Lots of marked hiking trails - if you want you can also cross over into the neighbouring farm. Interesting hide for night time animal viewing.

Vegetarian food was a bit disappointing but think for some reason there had been a mix up and they were not expecting a vegetarian so probably not typical.

Still a great starting point

This was the third time we had started our Namibian trip here, and the experience was as good as ever.

Bettina is a charming an attentive host, and the lodge is a great place to relax for a day or two after a long journey.

There are no formal activities, but the hide and ability to do bush walks is good.

Beautiful estate

The estate is very beautiful, red earth, striking vegetation, outdoor sculptures, lots of birds.

The rooms are unusual and fun, but could do with an update, particularly the bathroom. The food was good, we found the portions a bit large.

There are great walks around the estate, we wish we stayed longer to explore them.

Beautiful spot, met Bettini, nice woman. Great staff.
lots of walking trails, small animals & birds.

We saw Kudu at many places, they are not on your sightings lists. Also saw mongoose, baboons, Black Back Jackels, Steenbok, Springbok, and a plethora of birds.

We drove to Windhoek for another day there, back to bookstore, repair tire, ate Portuguese food, that was good.

Highly recommended stay on arrival in Namibi

A very good lodge to start our trip.

We very much appreciated that two family members of the owners met us at sundown for a drink and fascinating conversation.

Top class accommodation

This was an excellent place to end our trip. The accommodation and food were top class and it was a very relaxing place before our long journey home the next day.

We wished that we could have spent another night here.

It was lovely to return to this lodge

This was our third visit to the lodge. It is just over a hour's drive from the airport.

The area surrounding the lodge offers plenty of opportunities for walking in the bush. The walks are clearly marked and the map that we were given was accurate. We didn't see any game on our walks but there were lots of birds. There was also plenty of evidence of wildlife - scat, tracks, porcupine quills, mole rat excavations etc.

It is such a lovely place to stay - interesting buildings, characterful interiors, helpful staff, great food - an oasis of tranquility.

We stayed for two nights but wish we had booked for three.

Eningu Clayhouse review

A wonderful finale in Namibia. Would have been great to have another night here too.

Lovely hostess, food, rooms, walks…. Also the drive across was very interesting and on a pretty good road too. It did take about 6 ½ hours but we enjoyed it and didn’t feel exhausted on arrival.

We were surprised to be the only guests that night. Very easy hour drive to the airport and efficient handover of the car. A pleasant wait in the Wilderness Safari Lounge altho the plane ended up leaving quite a bit later. It did seem a bit shambolic in the departure Lounge.
