"Fine stopover in Central Lodge"

1 night Arrived 21 Jun 2018
"The lodge is located very centrally in Keetmanshoop, which makes it easy to do some shopping.
Otherwise, it was a bit basic, but the service was very friendly." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia; 4n in South Africa

"Sub standard room and service"

1 night Arrived 5 May 2018
"Did not expect top accommodation in the town of Keetmanshoop and maybe this is the best place to stay in the town. However, we were put in a sub-standard and tired looking room next to the restaurant as all the other rooms had been filled by a coach party.

Service in the restaurant was also poor and lacked organisation, staff were not coping with the pressure of dealing with a large party and arguing amongst themselves.
Although the manager was walking around he did not appear to be doing anything to resolve the problems." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

"A mediocre stay"

1 night Arrived 23 Apr 2018
"Some reported that rooms were not as clean or well equipped as other locations. The food service was slow.

It is accepted that good accommodation in a town like Keetmanshoop may be more difficult to source." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Comfortable stay"

1 night Arrived 29 Dec 2017
"We were a little surprised at the breakfast buffet having been cleared away at 08:25, when we had been told the previous evening that it ended at 09:00. Nevertheless, what we were served was reasonable." See all these reviews: 20n in Namibia

"Central Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 1 Apr 2017
"This lodge is somewhat dated but is a very interesting property, it has a very historical look and ambiance. location was in middle of town with a parking area within the secured property.

Some aspects of the room such as door fit and some other minor details were so so but given that it was priced accordingly, we had no problem with it. The staff were excellent and provided a great candle light supper in the open central court yard.

The staff also was very helpful in pointing out local attractions and providing directions." See all these reviews: 22n in Namibia

"Not a good experience"

1 night Arrived 13 Sep 2016
"This hotel is nicely situated but it is very basic. The room we were allocated had a most awful smell and although this is not our normal custom we had to ask reception to change our room. The entrance of even the new room was off an ugly yard area.

It seemed as if as most of the rooms opened onto a courtyard so we had to close the curtains fairly early for privacy.

Dinner was fine although the napkins were so flimsy and tiny they were barely useable. Our waiter, Eric, was excellent. We could not charge the dinner to our room.

A buffet breakfast was included and the choice was expansive even with some meat and salad with feta cheese but there was little service unless one asked for help even though 3 waitresses stood and just watched. Perhaps there is a management issue. The next day at about 10 a.m. there was no toilet paper in the guest toilets.
Beds were comfortable.

Maybe it was just that the hotel was far less expensive than the others we stayed in and not sure if there is anything better in Keetmanshoop." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia; 4n in South Africa
