"Great holiday"

I visited Namibia and 1 other country between 14 Jul 2012 and 28 Jul 2012
"Dear Sabina,

Thanks very much for organising such a great holiday again!! Totally different from the dry part of Namibia (Kalahari desert, Namib desert, Damara land, Etosha). This time river deltas, water, green, and also many many animals, and again very nice people. Anybody asking us about our two holidays, we suggest to contact Expert Africa and you. Again, unforgettable.

One topic for your consideration: leaving to our lodge near Rundu, we were stopped at a check point just south of Rundu close to an army base. I stopped the front of my car 1 meter past the stop sign. Anyway, the guy made a big point out of it, a second policeman joined him and I had to come with them to a tent next to the road. Supposedly I would get a fine of NAM $ 1500 for "ignoring the stop sign".

I stayed courteous, said that any fine I'd pay at the police station. Anyway, it was an attempt to get a bribe, but in the end I did not have to pay anything. At another lodge, I heard that a few other tourists had exactly the same experience, at exactly the same check point. Not a big deal, but just that you know this happened.

Again Sabina, thanks very much for your help. It was an unforgettable holiday, again!

Kind regards, Elly and Paul Veth." Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 7 on a Namibia trip

"North East Botswana trip June 2012"

I visited Botswana and 1 other country between 11 Jun 2012 and 26 Jun 2012
"It was all I expected (hoped) it would be!!

Excellent place to see doggies (my main reason for coming here), high standard of camps/lodges.
Surprisingly pretty landscape outside of the delta. this of course has for an important part to do with all the water returning to the area.

Excellent, really excellent guides without exception.

By the way, Bradt's Botswana guide was a great help in planning the trip.

Everything was taken care of in an excellent manner, so no worries - only pleasure and excitement- at all!" Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 14 on a Botswana safari

"Gotta come back!"

I visited Botswana between 26 Nov 2011 and 8 Dec 2011
"We had a very short time, tacked onto the end of a conference in Livingstone. Obviously, we've barely scratched the surface.

After talking to the Muchenje people and other people on the road, the next trip will be in August, taking in Namibia and Okavango maybe in a DIY trip with 4WD. OK, dream on .." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 4 on a Botswana safari

"A great visit to Botswana"

I visited Botswana between 25 Nov 2011 and 11 Dec 2011
"I was really lucky as my week in South Africa was great and I had a wonderful time in Botswana, all the arrangements worked really well except the one hiccup with Air Botswana and although it was annoying it wasnt a disaster.

All the moves worked well, except Air Botswana routed us via Kasane from Maun to Joburg adding 2hrs - it was lucky I had a 4hr stopover at Joburg or I would have had a mad panic making the London flight- not your fault but worth knowing!

"Botswanna - a wonderful experience"

I visited Botswana between 17 Nov 2011 and 27 Nov 2011
"This was an amazing trip. The quality and variety of the safaris was excellent. We saw 35 different species of mammals and 223 different bird species over the nine days.

We really liked the way that our trip took us from Chobe in the north and then south into different places in the Okavango Delta and all had different habitats. This meant we had the opportunity to see different species as well as different landscapes. All the people we met were friendly and welcoming.

We both want to go back to Botswanna and to visit other places in Africa. This was a very special holiday for me as I was very ill last year and this trip was something to aim for to help me get through the difficult times. It was well worth it.
Thank you.

"A variety of experiences!"

I visited South Africa and 2 other countries between 10 Nov 2011 and 5 Dec 2011
"Time flew past all too quickly! South Africa as expected, although cooler than we would have wished - the electric blankets in Hermanus were most welcome! Botswana, undoubtedly depends on when you visit as far as game viewings are concerned, but based on our experiences we would not return having had better viewing experiences in South Africa, Tanzania and Naminia.

Victoria Falls - the only real problem on our trip. We planned our stay there to include a visit to Zambia, as there is a railway museum in Livingstone we wanted to see. In Botswana there were varying answers as to what Visas would be required. We travelled from Kasane to Victoria Falls with Wilderness.

At the Kazungula Border Post the driver gave us forms to complete and asked for US$ 55 visa fee from each of us. At the immigration counter I asked what Visa we would require as we wished to spend a day in Zambia, and was advised a dual entry Visa. I asked for a dual entry Visa and the Immigration clerk advised I could not have one. I asked why and he replied that such Visas were only issued at his discretion and his discretion was not to give us one. Reasoning did not help and I asked for the head of Immigration - he was at lunch but we waited for his return. I explained the issue, his clerk in the background was laughing throughout, but he said as we by now had the single entry Visa stuck in our passports he could not cancel them. He did however offer to sell us, in addition, dual entry Visas at a cost of US$ 80 each, or whatever. We declined.

I assume that this journey from Kasane to Victoria Falls is operated quite frequently. The driver of the Minibus ( on this occasion Big Boy) should be better informed on the options available beforehand so that such problems do not arise.

Regrettably, this finished our trip on a disappointing note." Read full review: 25 nights in Africa; 13 on a South Africa trip

"Namibia"

I visited Namibia and 2 other countries between 3 Oct 2011 and 23 Oct 2011
"We really enjoyed our trip and all aspects (except those listed in the box below) went smoothly. The folder that contained all the vouchers and key information together was useful.

With hindsight we should have booked accommodation with AC throughout the trip because if you go out early it is valuable to have somewhere cool enough to rest in the heat of the day before going out again in the afternoon. We probably should have worked this out for ourselves but I hadn't expected to want to be in much at midday and had not appreciated how hot tents can get!

We would definitely recommend Namibia at this time of year to any wildlife enthusiasts and your advice helped us to make the most of it." Read full review: 20 nights in Africa; 15 on a Namibia trip
