"Okonjima Bush Camp review"

"Fascinating to come back here after 16 years and see how it has developed in both facilities and strategy. Okonjima is not your regular lodge and tracking cats via radio collars in very large enclosures is a different experience - but a fantastic one!
We stayed in Bush Camp, which has lovely, comfortable, open rooms, well spread out. The bird food was a nice touch and attracted a flock of great sightings. Our guide Albert was a top man who really went the distance for us. We tracked leopard, cheetah and scrambled up a bushy escarpment on foot to find hyena.

"On arrival we found we were not booked for a garden room as requested, fortunately this was rectified.
As returning guests we were made very welcome.
Both Leopard and Cheetah tracking was excellent. I was privileged to be lent an ATV to track their four wild dogs, a rare and unforgettable experience. I also had the opportunity to talk to Tristan about my interest in Cheetahs which has already given me some new avenues to explore." See all these reviews: 7n in Namibia

"Excellent Game drives and information on the rehabitation, a very good cause.
The hospitality staff seemed pre -occupied in the communial areas had little time for guests.

"Final Days with Cheetah"

"What a fantastic place to end our trip.
Although the cats are semi-captive and radio tracked it was still a thrill to see them so close. Leopard, Cheetah and our favourite , Wild Dog. Not sure if everyone gets the chance to see the dogs, we were fortunate to be able to ask the Africat staff. They are hand raised and although can never be released fully wild, they do hunt for themselves. Howeve because they are used to humans we could get off the vehicle and walk closer to them - amazing." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"We were somewhat apprehensive about staying here in advance of our trip, having had mixed feedback from friends and fearing it might be too commercialised.

"A wonderful experience.
Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Although this was relatively expensive there were no hidden extras and it was good value with the included activities. We were glad we started our trip here because it set the standard for game viewing.

"Food was outstanding. The dining area was superb, 3 safaris a day which were all excellent except for the night safari for which we paid extra and felt the guide really did not want to do it.

"Four hungry cheetahs"

"This was a wonderful experience.
Our guide Paul was both knowledgeable and funny. The first night we found the leopard and on the next morning 4 hungry cheetahs feeding on an eland. It was a lovely touch having the birdseed to throw outside the cabin and the other stars were the warthogs - who needs a lawnmower?
My only criticism is that I would like to have learnt more about the work of Africat and seen more of their facilities. Several other people we talked with felt the same way." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia

"Hyenas and Bushman trail"

"The hyena drive was different from the cheetah and leopard drives because part of it was conducted on foot, right up to the moment when we stood just a few feet away from one of the male hyenas - fantastic.
As ever, the Bushman trail was very informative and another chance to walk through the bush albeit close to the camp.
