I visited Namibia and 1 other country between 17 Oct 2008 and 8 Nov 2008
"An excellent holiday all round
One big plus was that we stopped off on the way in order to meet some local people, who gave us a real insight into the pleasures and problems of living in Namibia.
The one hiccup came at Cape Town airport when the car failed to materialise. We therefore had to take a taxi to the vineyard.
Can I send you the receipt for reimbursement?" Read full review: 22 nights in Africa; 14 on a Namibia trip

"Namibian safari trip"

I visited Namibia between 17 Oct 2008 and 31 Oct 2008
"This was a holiday of a lifetime. A real experience before Namibia becomes too popular, and nothing can beat meeting 'real' wild animals.

Suggestions for improvement:

The feedback on the web site is very helpful in choosing the right place to stay.

Gwynneth was great for suggesting Mushara outpost rather than staying in Namutoni rest Camp, 3 nights at Namutoni would be a lot less pleasant than 3 nights at Mushara! Mushara was a very comfortable lodge.

I would strongly suggest though that you reccommend 4 wheel drive cars for 4 guests travelling together in future. The cost is a lot more, but we would gladly have paid it for the peace of mind. As you know, areas in Damaraland etc are extremely remote, and I dreaded breaking down there, and it was a real concern for us. At Etendeka we met a couple, also with a Toyota yarris, who were also having a lot of trouble driving on the gravel roads." Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 12 on a Namibia trip

"Namibia & Botswana 2008"

I visited Namibia and 1 other country between 17 Oct 2008 and 11 Nov 2008
"Our trip was superbly organised and the assistance that we received with our planning was first class. The trip ran very smoothly and was stress free. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the gravel roads in Namibia and found the whole of our Namibian experience very fulfilling. It was very varied and our choice of time of year meant that we saw far more than we could possibly have hoped for in Etosha.

After that Botswana was a slight anti-climax and appeared very over-priced by comparison with what we had experienced in Namibia. With the benefit of hindsight we also felt that 9 days of game drives was too repetitive.

Our poor experience at Kwara we feel was entirely due to the poor manager and housekeeper and could not have been foreseen by Expert Africa." Read full review: 25 nights in Africa; 12 on a Namibia trip

I visited South Africa and 1 other country between 15 Oct 2008 and 12 Nov 2008
"First of all we must say thankyou for such an excellent holiday. We had a wonderful time and Namibia in particular was everything we hoped and expected for our second visit to the country. Throughout the accommodation was excellent and the food made a considerable impression at many of the places we stayed - we have the extra pounds to prove it!

In short a very ejoyable and successful holiday with lots of highlights, too many to mention, although the Baboons at Augrabies Falls and the three days of Whale watching at Hermanus will be remembered for a very long time. Oceans Eleven at Hermanus and Camps Bay Retreat were very good recommendatins so thanks Tracy for all your good ideas and helpfulness.

It was a super holiday and getting back to reality is proving very hard We are already working on the next trip to Nambia. What more can we say!" Read full review: 28 nights in Africa; 14 on a South Africa trip

"Our Safari"

I visited Zambia and 1 other country between 13 Oct 2008 and 25 Oct 2008
"Another great time in Africa, it always fascinates and enthralls us. No problems with any of our arrangements inspite of a fairly convoluted itinerary. If anyone has discovered an effective way of dealing with tetse flies we would appreciate their advice. They were quite a problem on the Lower Zambezi this year!

Apart from the flies our only other grumble was having to pay £75 visa charge each for a 6 hour stay in Zambia while en-route to Namibia, and then being charged again when we returned 5 days later.

No, the service and trip lived up to our expectations." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 6 on a Zambia safari

"Excellent, apart from Sossus Dune Lodge. The distance between the airport and Erongo was a bit much, we thought, after an overnight flight, but Tracy tells me that there is nowhere suitable to stay in between." Read full review: 23 nights in Africa; 15 on a Namibia trip

I visited Namibia between 4 Oct 2008 and 21 Oct 2008
"Our second triip to Namibia and all went well. We are in our late 60s and were a bit concerned about going up to the Caprivi but roads are excellent and nothing to worry us - though if we were to go again I think we would choose a cooler time of year (if there is one) and/or confine ourselves to accommodation with air conditioning.

Two warnings

1. Petrol is evidently a problem beyond Rundu. There was none at Kongola and only 93 octane at Divundu when we needed to fill up for our return journey

2. As we drove from Windhoek to the airport for our return flight a car overtook us and shouted out that we had a flat tyre. I thought the car was driving normally and carried on to the airport parking where our tyres seemed perfectly OK, so I think this was an attempted confidence trick. Unfortunately I failed to get the registration number." Read full review: 17 nights in Africa; 16 on a Namibia trip
