Classy city hotel

We stayed here at both the start and end of our trip, for 1 night each time. We enjoyed both of our stays. The breakfasts were very good, We also had our evening meals here and although not the cheapest place to eat, the dinners were very good indeed, really good food. The Namibian date and brandy cake/pudding was particularly tasty! The port and chocolate for bedtime was a nice and unusual touch.

On both stays our rooms were very comfortable. Our room on the second visit was booked as Standard, whilst on our first visit it was booked as Luxury. However, we'd be hard pressed to say what was superior about the room we stayed in the first time: indeed by comparison, the standard room was a bit brighter and didn't open out onto the road, so was quieter. Based on our experience I would recommend simply booking a standard room.

Another thought - it might be good to request/check that you don't have a room opening out directly onto the reception/dining area (I think this was rooms 1, 2 and 3) - those rooms might feel a lack of privacy and risk a bit noise.

A peaceful oasis

This was a nice place to stay in Windhoek. Very quiet and less 'urban' than many hotels. Their dinners were great.

Mediterranean style accommodation, not luxurious but perfectly acceptable. Had our evening meal there which was easy, good food pleasantly served. Good breakfast and provided a packed lunch the next day.

Olive Grove guesthouse a Jewel

We were immediately impressed with the Guesthouse, warmly welcomed by Helen, and shown our spacious beautiful room.

We had hoped to eat in their famous restaurant in their adjacent boutique hotel, but this was fully booked. The dinner at the guesthouse was truly wonderful, and we struggle to imagine how the guesthouse and its restaurant can be outclassed by its more upmarket boutique sister.

Perfect start of our vacation, and the only regret is that we had to leave the next morning.

A really lovely stay in central Windhoek.

Olive Grove was the perfect place to stay for a night before we set off on our drive around Namibia.

It's a very pretty place in a central location, and dinner was delicious.

Olive Grove review

Room & bathroom were quite nice, but the bare concrete floors were rather unwelcome. The receptionist was very helpful.

We were a bit surprised when they wanted to close the lounge area by 9pm, stopping any use of the computer. Breakfast was fine if unremarkable. Overall, a pleasant but not exceptional B&B.
