"Brilliant Wildlife Experience"

Based at Cornerstone Guesthouse on 26 Jul 2015
"This was a superb trip.

Jeanne took us out to Pelican Point early and gave a great guided tour on route: of the wildlife, salt works etc. Paddling out to the seal colony was brilliant, the sea was alive with inquisitive pups and we spent over an hour playing with them.

Jeanne took photos+video which were emailed to us before we got back to the hotel and provided us with equipment, waterproof clothes and lunch." Read more about this whole safari

"Excellent Seal Kayak Trip"

Based at Organic Square on 25 Jul 2015
"Our trip was at the end of July 2015.

The weather in Swakopmund is, let's say, changeable. We made contact with Jeanne the day before to check all was OK, which it was, and it turned out to be a beautiful day. After meeting up bright and early we were driven by Jeanne's partner Bernd around the bay to the point where the seals are. A very interesting trip seeing Flamingo's, the salt works and other birds on the way. He also told us about the local ecology and issues affecting the area.

We were given warm fleece tops and a coat to wear (no wet suits etc, just wear your normal clothes) - all very easy. Into the kayaks and away. Very soon we were paddling around, surrounded by inquisitive seals, the young and 'teenage' seals while the parents looked on from the beach. It was amazing being able to be so close to these 'wild' animals, interacting with them but not feeling as though you are in a zoo.

After getting out we had lunch - a filled roll and hot tea which was welcome after our early start.

Jeanne took some excellent pictures of us which she emailed later that day and we also took our camera out so have great pictures to remember our trip with.

On the way back with Bernd, we had a good discussion. It was very interesting to hear from a 'local' what it was like to live in Namibia.

After we were dropped off, we drove a short distance past the yacht club to a nice area with bars, restaurants, art galleries and bought some very nice wood carvings at a good price from a 'traditional' shack." Read more about this whole safari

"Pelican Point Kayaking"

Based at Cornerstone Guesthouse on 23 May 2015
"This was an incredible experience. I have paddled with sea lion pups before, but never in these numbers. The water was boiling with all the pups swimming and jumping beside us. I had a wide grin for the entire 2 hours of paddling!" Read more about this whole safari

"Try taking a photo of a seal from a kayak!"

Based at Beach Lodge on 21 Oct 2014
"Another 'must do' experience while in Namibia, kayaking with seals!

After a drive out to Pelican Point by jeep, we put on wet-suits and headed out into the bay to look for the wildlife. Very lucky to see the rare sight of three African Penguins swimming close by. Also saw a few dolphins that swam alongside for a while. The main attraction though were the thousands of seals which enjoyed splashing around amongst the kayaks. Great fun, and very difficult to photograph!

Our guide, Craig, was knowledgable about the local area and wildlife, especially the birds. We saw many varieties including pink flamingos and even a Pelican himself." Read more about this whole safari

"A holiday highlight"

28 Sep 2014
"This really was a great experience - Jeanne thought of everything from waterproof trousers, jackets, fleeces, shoes & gloves. An interesting journey out to the point, via the salt works, with lots of birds and a few jackals. The kayaking was safe and easy and the seals very friendly. Jeanne takes photos and videos and emails them to you later in the day - great not to have to worry about your own camera getting wet. At the end of the kayaking, nice sandwich rolls and coffee before going back.

Jeanne was great - chatty, informative and good fun." Read more about this whole safari

"Great Fun"

Based at Cornerstone Guesthouse on 7 Aug 2014
"We were really glad we did this trip. Well organised by Jeanne who very quickly after send us emails and videos of our time in the water with the seals.

Thoroughly recommend this trip and would say you need to book in advance with Jeanne as her trip is by far and away the best. 3 others offer a similar thing and we spoke to a Dutch family who went with one of the others and whilst enjoying what they did, they didn't get Jeanne's personal touch." "Great fun kayaking"

Based at Cornerstone Guesthouse on 16 Jul 2014
"Lovely lady and everything provided for the water activity_ waterproof shoes and clothes. Also had photos and videos taken and sent to our emails. The kayaking itself was easy- I had been a bit concerned as we were on the sea, but no experience needed!" Read more about this whole safari

"Pelican Point Kayaking"

Based at Lagoon Lodge on 19 Jul 2014
"We cannot thank Jeanne and Bernd enough for our three hour kayaking tour - it was brilliant. We were picked up at Lagoon Lodge, taken out to the point and then provided with layers of clothing, waterproofs, gloves, life jacket etc. We have previously only kayaked once before and the assurance that you do not need any experience really is genuine - the water is quite shallow and generally quite calm so we felt very safe. The seals were all around and we got really good photos, Jeanne took videos and emailed these to us also. There were plenty of rolls provided for lunch with tea and coffee once we got back to shore before the drive back to Walvis Bay past the many flamingoes and other water birds."
