Some lovely ladies at olive grove
We were looked after very well here by a group of smashing ladies and the food they cooked for us was beautiful
a real pleasure
Good central Windhoek base
This was the first place we stayed in Namibia and it was excellent - everything you need with attentive staff, lovely and spacious rooms, high speed wifi and a choice of breakfasts (the game sausage was particularly memorable). There's also a very small pool area to relax by, although we chose to spend our afternoon in the city centre - only a 15 minute walk away.
The Olive Grove is also close to some decent restaurants too, either a quick drive or taxi away (we were advised not to walk after dark despite the area being really nice and seemingly trouble free).
Great one-night stop
Great place to recuperate from the flight. Luxury room was spacious - and the hot water bottles they made at night were a nice surprise.
Had a lovely meal at Joes Beerhouse which was near - tried all different kind of game and crocodile! They were happy to book a taxi for us. The best breakfast we had in the whole holiday was at Olive Grove.
Didn't appear to be much parking but wasn't a problem for us as we seemed to be the only car there. The pool also didn't seem too appealing.
Olive Grove Review
Same comments as before, but we were impressed with the early availability of our rooms - 10.30 am.

Last night at Olive Grove
Lovely place to spend our last night in Namibia.
Convenient location and secure parking. Superb room and fabulous dinner and breakfast. Full marks for attention to detail, hot water bottles in bed and port and chocolates.
Would happily return and would not hesitate to recommend.

Good enough...fine for an evening before moving on. It somewhat feels like a prison because of the security wire around it. No problem with the people, who were cordial and helpful except for the night crew who seemed to have been sleeping a bit too well...neglected to roll up the sunshades, which were flapping noisily away for most of the night.Read more about the whole trip
Olive Grove Review
Great welcome to Africa! We had a good room - actually Prince Harry stayed there last year!
The food was excellent - all home made and the service was good. Very pleasant place to stop over.

The Olive Grove provides adequate accommodations for an overnight stay, although having seen the place I now believe there are probably better places in the same price range. The pictures on the internet make the rooms look a fair bit nicer than they really are. On our first night's stay, we had a room that didn't seem to have had its update/upgrade so didn't look like the photos on the website. The shower was virtually unusable, the hot water tap on one of the sinks didn't work, we could hear conversation clearly from the next room, and we couldn't connect to wifi unless we were outside on the patio. But, the bed was comfortable and clean.
On the second night, we stayed in a room on the main floor, next to the reception area. We weren't bothered by noise from the reception area as dinner is over early and we arose before breakfast started. However, we were awakened at 4:00 am by bright lights shining directly into our bedroom window from the parking lot. Also, the only shower was in the tub, which was slanted so a bit dangerous to stand in. The water sprayed onto the bathroom floor and when we used the bathmat to dry up the floor we were disgusted to see the bathmat turn a dirty brown. Ugh...
On the upside, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The meals were good and the pick up and drop off area - which is a gated area right outside reception - was very convenient.
