"Rhino Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 16 Jun 2009
"This lodge was a contrast to the Tarangire lodge, being more basic, but we enjoyed it very much. It had a homely feel about it and the staff were very firendly and helpful. (and provided us with filled hot water bottles on our first night.) A bonus was a small private balcony. It was helpful to have prior warning from Ellie (Expert Africa) that it could be cold at night, so we went prepared and were not cold at all. Again, we liked being close to wildlife and it was exciting for us to have a buffalo outside our balcony one morning.

We liked the more inclusive nature of the lodge which enabled us to dine with our guide - the only one of our camps which allowed this. He said that this camp provided him with the best accommodation of all three camps we stayed in. We think this is important as he had full days driving and escorting us." "Nice Evenings at Rhino Lodge"

2 nights Arrived 18 Jul 2008
"Rhino Lodge does not have the same facilities as some of the more expensive venues, but what is provided is more than adequate and everything is spotlessly clean. Prospective guests should note that the lodge does not have views of the crater. This is not necessarily an issue, as both nights we arrived back after sunset and both mornings it was foggy (as most mornings are), so we wouldn't have seen anything anyway.

The most enjoyable aspect of the Lodge is the after-dinner drinks, when everyone gets together around the fireplace. We met lots of interesting people from Tanzania and around the world - much more interesting than the entertainment typically offered by some of the other places. I would be happy to recommend Rhino Lodge to anyone." See all these reviews: 11n in Tanzania
