"Zambia trip"

I visited Zambia between 10 Sep 2010 and 25 Sep 2010
"Management, guides, general staff superb.

Transfers worked like clockwork and there was always someone to guide us to the next destination.

Apart from Busanga game was excellent as were the three camps.
Shiwa was an wonderful experience as already mentioned.

Only downside was the tsetses in Kafue, would actually prevent us returning there.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

As previous users of Wilderness camps in other African countries it would be helpful to see in your brochure which ones belong to them." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 11 on a Zambia safari

"Fabulous first Safari, superbly organised."

I visited Zambia between 14 Aug 2009 and 25 Aug 2009
"We had an unbelievable time and would like to thank Expert Africa, and in particular Claire Scott for all her help and advice - particularly as we had to rearrange the trip because of the health issues!

Suggestions for improvement:

Difficult to know what to say as we had such good service and a great trip. The only thing i would say is that the photographs of the lodges, particulary of Shumba don't do them justice.....so nothing to worry about there then!!" Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 7 on a Zambia safari

"Zambia trip."

I visited Zambia and 1 other country between 17 Jul 2009 and 9 Aug 2009
"This was a lovely trip, we enjoyed every minute of it. Lucy got it absolutely right in the order we did things. It was lovely to chill out at the Zambesi Sun for the first 4 days with the game drives at Chobe and Kafue following. This gave us the chance to get very close to all the animals we had hoped to see and to photograph them. The walking safari following on meant there was no pressure to see and get very close to any of the animals and we could enjoy the walks and savour Africa at a leisurely pace with animals getting close to us when we stayed still.

All the places we stayed in were very special and was just the sort of safari we had hoped for. There was a bit of pressure on animals in Chobe with 4 cars watching lions at one point but there was fantastic amounts of game there. The boat trip was particularly lovely and we watched elephants drinking from the river and 100's of birds.

It was very easy to move from one part of the holiday to the next and all links and transfers were perfect. Hard to imagine that so many links and transfers and border crossings could go without a hitch!

At the planning stage, Lucy listened carefully to me and made absolutely the right recommendations. She remained cheerful through 2 sets of reboookings caused by BA changing flight days. She and Anna are obviously well known and respected in Zambia. Lucy's service was so good that I have booked my next holiday to Equador and Galapagos through Sunvil, and hope to book Namibia in the future. Pity that Expert Africa didn't organise the weather!

Suggestions for improvements:

It was the quality of your service before booking that made us book with you, irrespective of price. We could easily have done this trip cheaper by making our own arrangements - but I wouldn't like to be in Africa without Expert Africa! Just the thought of the Zambia|Botswana border without Expert Africa makes me go cold. What other firm gives clients their consultants mobile numbers in case of emergencies?

Matchless service and nothing could have been improved." Read full review: 23 nights in Africa; 13 on a Zambia safari

"An overwhelming and life changing experience"

I visited Zambia between 14 Jul 2008 and 31 Jul 2008
"Our itinerary was very well judged by you, given our tastes and interests, and the order of visiting parks ideal. We loved North Kafue for the wide open spaces, hippo, antelope and especially birds. We didn't see big game there - except zebra and a couple of elephants - and it may be that clients with narrower tastes and interests than us would not appreciate the region as much as we did (there were some US clients at Shumba who said they were bored!). Of course, visitors at this time of year need to take the prospect of low temperatures seriously.

This was truly a holiday of a lifetime, and we are very grateful to Expert Africa for helping to make it so. We hope to go again in future, and in the meantime will not be hesitating to recommend you to our friends.

We were sceptical whether we could cope with the low luggage allowance. We didn't need to be; we survived easily on 15 kilos between us, and didn't wear some bits! You could emphasise this aspect even more strongly in your notes (but also stress the need for warm clothes at this time of year)." Read full review: 17 nights in Africa; 12 on a Zambia safari

"Zambia 2007"

I visited Zambia between 29 Oct 2007 and 10 Nov 2007
"We had our problems on this holiday, we lost a day due to confusion over our flight home and the lack of walking opportunities was a disappointment. The tetses and the bug in the ear also did not help. However the trip was immensely interesting and ultimately very enjoyable. We are pretty experienced travellers in Africa and not easily phased but I am not sure some clients might not have found some of our issues a little daunting. An interesting observation by a fellow traveller at Chongwe that his stay there had made his trip was a view we strongly supported." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 8 on a Zambia safari

"Amazing."

I visited Zambia between 21 Sep 2007 and 12 Oct 2007
"It was a perfect experience. I wanted to return to Lusaka where I had grown up and then to go on to some safaris and the Falls and then onto Capetown where we have friends.

It was a perfectly planned trip, Lucy from Expert Africa had been so helpful every step of the way.

Suggestions for improvement:

It would be great to get rid of the tetse fly - i understand that other countries have introduced an erridation programme. Otherwise your reecommendations and services were excellent." Read full review: 21 nights in Africa; 7 on a Zambia safari
