Radisson Blu Hotel Lusaka

Reception told me they had not been paid by Expert Africa (not true) and requested us to pay for the accommodation. We refused.
Expert Africa confirm this is not the first time they have had problems with this group's administration and it is unlikely we will use them again.

Adequate for a stopover

Only spent a short amount of time here; an early departure meant I had to miss breakfast, which wasn’t served until later, so little to comment on.

The large rooms are decorated in a very modern style.

Good stop over option at Radisson Blu Hotel

The hotel was perfect after the long flight and to make the most of the fact that we didn't want to arrive at the National Park in the evening.

Overnight stop in Lusaka at the Radisson Blu

The Radisson Blu is ideal for an overnight stop in Lusaka, being close to the airport, with spacious, quiet and well-equipped rooms.

We have stayed here on previous occasions, and as before, we relaxed by the pool with a Mosi beer whilst we watched the sun go down.

It was a Sunday night and we had an excellent dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Radisson Blu Hotel review

The Radisson was better than I expected. Clean, seemingly well managed, and decent food.

Location is on the airport side of Lusaka, which was more convenient, but "the mall across the street" was pretty seedy though we had heard it was a good place to shop.

Pretty strong security presence at the entrances, got the sense that this is more of a business hotel. But we felt safe and the service was good.

Radisson Blu Hotel review

The hotel itself was good as expected as we had used it before and the room clean and large.

However the service in the dining room during our evening meal was bad being exceptionally slow and this was aggravated bearing in mind we a nine year old with us who was very tired after a long journey.

Whilst we were on a bed and breakfast basis as we had to leave early they had a grab and run table laid up at reception which was self service for a drink a dry bread roll and limited fruit. Not really what one would expect for a hotel of this standard.

Radisson Blu Hotel review

I expected worse, but it was a decent sanctuary in Lusaka. Got the sense it was focused more on business, but the rooms were fine, and the food was quite good. The breakfast buffet in particular.

It's located on the airport side of Lusaka, so we never ventured into the city. Not sure we went to the right mall across the street. It was a little seedy. Pretty strong security presence at the hotel to keep people from entering the premises.

Good service.
Convenient for the airport.
We felt the evening menu could have had a bit more choice.

Overnight stop at the Radisson Blu

This hotel is located a short drive from Lusaka airport, and was ideal for an overnight stay.

Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. We relaxed by the pool with a Mosi, watching the sun set before moving to the restaurant, where we had a good dinner.
