"Brandberg White Lady Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 17 Sep 2009
"We picked this lodge simply to break the drive from Damaraland to Swakopmund and so for a one night stop it was fine. It was basic but clean, everyone was very friendly and very helpful when we needed some help with our car.

The lights in our chalet which were battery fed were temperamental but we did not worry too much as we went straight to bed after dinner (early nights were becoming the norm!)" See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"Brandberg White Lady - small rock paintings"

1 night Arrived 17 Aug 2009
"We stayed here en route to Etosha. It was recommended to us. It was our token rock paintings day. Rock paintings were nice but very small.

I wasn't prepared for this being such a beautiful location. Again a separate chalet - travel by car to lodge for dinner to avoid elephants...which we didn't see. The lodge grounds were very nice and being a largish lodge there was a good enclosed area floodlit for a beer.

Food was fine...but light much of the food we had, not a highlight." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 2n in Botswana

"Brandberg White Lady Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 7 Aug 2009
"good location, the walk to see the White lady was long and not to be recomended in the heat of the middle of the day as we did.
It was worth while but my daughter commented that if these were the best rock paintings in the world she may give the others a miss!

We felt very close to nature and we appreciated that electricity is difficult to generate, however we had almost no light in the evening which semed usual, so some provision should be made for battery operated lanterns, as the candles we were given were clumsy to use and not appropriate for children in rooms on thier own. One of the highlights were the staff singing traditional songs after supper, even my 16yr old son thought they were cool !

Hunt for the elephants great, if you find them, we were lucky." See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia

"Brandberg White Lady Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 6 Oct 2008
"Excellent value for money. You feel really close to nature here. Sometimes a little too close, as the local elephants are prone to dig up the water pipes to the campsite as an easy way to get a drink.

The resident springbok and mongooses (and the staff) provide entertainment. The game drives guarantee sightings of the desert elephants and are good value.

Walks to the White Lady are a must - but not at midday" See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia; 1n in South Africa
