"The Delight review"

3 nights Arrived 13 Oct 2024
"We left Sesriem in the low 40Cs, arrived in Swakopmund at 20C and by evening it was down to single figures. The staff at The Delight arrived at the room door with two hot water bottles! We were glad to get them. We liked this hotel and found the car park and the room in the inner courtyard to be very convenient. Breakfast was good and the staff generally went out of their way to be friendly and helpful.

On reception the delightful Dolores was wonderful as was her colleague whose name escapes me. We discussed options for sightseeing and for eating fish in nearby restaurants. Everything was booked as we wanted and even when something was fully booked the team had great back-ups they could turn to. Just what you want from a front of house team.

We ate at The Tug and The Jetty. The sea was crashing in and there was a lot of cloud so no great sunsets but eating fresh fish at the seafront is always a joy.

We did a natural history dune trip to see the small 5 which was fascinating and a trip down to Sandwich Bay to see where the dunes meet the sea." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"The Delight review"

2 nights Arrived 5 May 2024
"The highlight were the staff, especially the ones serving breakfast. They absolutely lived up to the name of the accommodation. The breakfast was excellent, extending to oysters and champagne for those that can managed that at breakfast!

Room was large and beds extremely comfortable. Modern bathroom with enormous sink and good hot shower.

Staff were able to recommend restaurants for dinner and offered good advice, recommending driving rather than walking after dark.

The central position of the hotel was important as we could happily walk around the town and onto the long promenade directly from it." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"The Delight is a delight!

Great hotel with nice extras like a warm hot water bottle in your bed for turn down service and an excellent breakfast buffet.

Some noise from the rooms on the casino side of the street on the weekends though." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"The Delight review"

2 nights Arrived 12 Nov 2023
"The staff were very helpful and recommended some places to eat as they do not serve evening meals.

The rooms look out over a long courtyard which is beautifully laid out with lots of plants. They also booked our boat trip for the following day even though it was quite late in the day.

Being on the coast, the temperature in Swakopmund is considerably cooler than inland. We did not expect to have hot water bottles put in our beds when we returned to our room and the heating turned up. It was lovely and thoughtful.

A quirky hotel but thoroughly enjoyed our stay." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"The Delight review"

1 night Arrived 2 Jul 2023
"We just had a brief stopover for a night at the delight in Swakopmund.

Swakopmund is a good base to explore the coastline and enjoy some of the activities there. We went quadbiking on the dunes which we would recommend.

The Delight is a nice hotel.

We weren't there long, and although a larger hotel the staff were friendly and helpful." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia
