Sable Alley map: Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana
Sable Alley overlooks a small lagoon, complete with a pod of resident hippo in it.
Zoom out of this map by four or five clicks and you'll quickly see that it stands on the northern edge of a wide floodplain, within which there are numerous meanders and lagoons. This is the floodplain of the Khwai River, the most northerly arm of the Okavango Delta, and the land to the south of the floodplain is Moremi Game Reserve. There are no boundary fences here and the game wanders freely between Moremi and the Khwai Community Reserve, in which Sable Alley sits.
The water levels can vary considerably here during the season, but it's always a very beautiful area with some of the loveliest scenery in the Okavango Delta.
