You can also easily walk to the impressive Sesriem Canyon. Spacious, comfortable room and bathroom with a good view from the verandah overlooking the dunes -the fridge in the room was a nice touch. It would have been useful to have had more information about the area and available activities in the room.
Food at dinner was disappointing and none of the good wines on the wine list were available. There is a large, comfortable bar/lounge area which is ideal for pre dinner drinks and watching sunset." See all these reviews: 6n in Botswana; 5n in Namibia

Whilst lodge staff were charming this was the only place where we felt they were at times unreliable (although they did arrange both quad biking and ballooning excursions). Guide (George ) well informed . Dunes sunset trip outstanding and gorge walk interesting.

"Luxury in the desert"
All staff were friendly and helpful, but the place had a very 'corporate' feel, like a high class conference centre. However individual members of staff chatted to us in a very relaxed and friendly way, and went out of their way to be helpful.

The management there clearly had a strong interest in making the place a success and it showed in the quality of the service thoroughout our stay.

The guide on the sunrise trip to Sossusvlei was also superb, the timing and choice of locations was faultless and he was also very friendly and informative. The management were very sociable and accommodating,eg helping us make a phone call to our next destination.
The only criticism was that the food was not up to scratch. Both I and another guest, who we made friends with, suffered our only stomach upset here, and Lynda had an undercooked chicken. It didn't spoil the wonderful experience, but if this is part of a pattern, perhaps the lodge needs to know if its catering lets down the otherwise excellent standards."
