"Cornerstone Guesthouse review"

2 nights Arrived 20 Sep 2013
"We arrived in Swakopmund during a sandstorm, so the Cornerstone felt like a calm green oasis. The office staff were helpful and friendly and gave us good advice on things to do in the area. Bertina made a special effort to help us plan our day's activities.

Due to the high winds, we didn't go on a boat trip or guided drive into the desert, but did enjoy exploring the lagoon on our own. We recommend visiting the sea lion colony at Cape Cross." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia; 6n in Botswana; 1n in South Africa

"Hospitable haven"

2 nights Arrived 18 Sep 2013
"The room we were allocated was very clean and neat but a trifle small.

The breakfast was excellent and hosts very friendly and hospitable.

The Guesthouse is well located relative to the beachfront and the town

The excursion to Sandwich Harbour was excellent as was the guide Ernst Ritter. Very good birding there and at Walvis Bay.

Restaurants-The Jetty -very good with excellent service. The Tug- food excellent service not as good and wine a bit pricey given the quality." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia

"Great stay at Cornerstone"

2 nights Arrived 18 Sep 2013
"A superbly run guesthouse with charm and warm hospitality. Our outing to Sandwich Harbour with Turnstone Tours was outstanding - our tour guide, Ernest, was extremely knowledgeable about the area and its birdlife.

The Jetty restaurant was very good - better than the Tug." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia

"This was just a stop over for us, so we have little to say.

The breakfasts were very good and a decent place to eat in Swakopmund is 'The Jetty' - a restaurant at the end of a pier sticking out into a very cold Atlantic. Excellent Savignon Blanc for only $N75 abottle." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Cornerstone Guesthouse review"

1 night Arrived 22 Aug 2013
"We enjoyed our quick stay here. We were alittle confused upon arrival because from the direction we arrived the car park entrance was the first entrance we saw. You have to have "clicker" to get in...so we had no idea why the gate was not opening for us...but the security guard saw us and showed us how to round the corner and come in a different place. There ended up not being enough room for our car in the car park but we felt safe with the security guard.

We arrived just before sunset and it was clear that we were keeping the front desk person there....so don't be late. Everyone here was very nice. The night check in person wanted to help us with restaurant recommendations. We should have taken her up on this. Where we ate on our own devices was sub par.

The room was very nice. We figured out the white square on the wall was a heater. No blow dryer available here. The garden was particularly beautiful. I took mental notes of things to do in my own garden. Breakfast was really good and the gentleman who was working was delightful.

I recommend this place without reservation...as long as you know where to pull in!" See all these reviews: 18n in Namibia

"Cornerstone Guesthouse review"

3 nights Arrived 10 Aug 2013
"The guesthouse was much more upmarket than we were expecting. The rooms were large, well appointed, clean and very comfortable.

The gardens were neat colourful and well kept. Breakfast was very good. Peter was particularly helpful and went out of his way to assist when I struggled to obtain cash from the local ATM. Restaurants are all within 5 minutes walk.

While in Swakop my daughters all went skydiving with Ground Rush Adventures. They were excellent. We would also strongly recommend the lay down sand boarding company Expert Africa use. It was great fun and much more exhilarating than expected. We achieved 64kph!" See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Relaxing break ."

3 nights Arrived 3 Aug 2013
"Lovely place to stay being a really short walk to the beach area and the centre of town.

Margot and Peter and all the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially in recommending and booking restaurants for dinner.

We had lovely meals at 21degrees South, Kucki's Pub and the lovely Erichs which were all very different and reasonably priced.

Lovely breakfast!" See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia
