"Cornerstone Guesthouse review"

3 nights Arrived 6 Jun 2012
"This is possibly the best place to stay in Swakopmund as far as we could see. The location is perfect, rooms are excellent, and the breakfast was excellent.

The staff could not have been more helpful, making calls for us to book trips and restaurants.

Eleanor and Russell did the kayaking trip, which they thought was amazing. At the same time, we explored the town, including two hours in the excellent museum, which taught us a lot about Namibia.

We all did the Sandwich Harbour tour, guided by the excellent Ernest. Outstanding thing to do, including lunch in the dunes with table and chairs, and table cloth! Ernest knew all the birds very well.

We had dinners at The Tug (excellent), and Kucki's Pub and Erich's (both perfectly fine).

We went to the crystal gallery, which we really enjoyed, and Eleanor bought a lovely little necklace in the unique Namibian Pietersite stone. Peter at Cornerstone asked if we would put a review on Tripadvisor, which they find useful. We will do so." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia; 2n in Zimbabwe; 1n in South Africa

"Very pleasant guesthouse. They truly went out of their way to find the food I could eat for breakfast.

Host & Hostess were very helpful with all information about the area.

We went on a tour to the sand dunes with Turnstone Tours which was an excellent tour." See all these reviews: 14n in Botswana; 12n in Namibia

"Owner and all staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room was quite nice, with plenty of room to spread out and several nice little touches, including cookies with the tea and coffee. The garden was lovely. Location in downtown was perfect.

Highly recommend." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Friendly guesthouse"

2 nights Arrived 9 Oct 2011
"A friendly guesthouse set in lovely gardens and within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants and very easy to find on arrival. The bedroom was a good size and it was nice to have a fridge and TV in the room.

The bathroom however was rather small and the layout did not work very well." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia

"Cornerstone Guesthouse review"

2 nights Arrived 22 Sep 2011
"Really enjoyed Swakopmund and the guesthouse. Friendly staff who made restaurant bookings and gave general advice.

Room was spacious, bathroom even more so. Impressed by the international electrical sockets. Lovely gardens and generally relaxed atmosphere. Good supermarkets and restaurants in the town and safe to walk around after dark which added to the enjoyment.

Whilst here, Expert Africa arranged a 'Day trip to Sandwich Harbour' about which these travellers commented:

Delightful Day in the Dunes
Probably the best day of the whole trip, which is saying a lot. Ernest from Turnstone Tours was enthusiastic, extremely knowledgeable, skillful and seemed genuinely pleased by the group's enjoyment. Part of the wonderful experience was walking along the Skeleton Coast (seeing a jackal on the way), climbing up into the dunes and enjoying the solitude while Ernest went back for the Landrover (and our boots). He picked us up, drove on a bit more and then stopped for an impressive lunch before taking us back to see the flamingos and the pink salt pans. Great experience.

Enjoyed these dunes even more than those at Sossusvlei because we were alone, they seemed more remote because of the dramatic way the dunes met the sea" See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
