Olive Grove review
We stayed in room 8 for one night when we first arrived in Namibia. The staff were friendly and the proprietor contacted the airline for us as we were waiting on our delayed baggage (which safely arrived later that day). There was a nice outside eating area with reasonable food (a late lunch).
The room was quite rustic in style (but smart) with an extremely comfortable bed and nice sheets etc. We were left fizzy wine (we were on honeymoon) and later arrived back to find complimentary port and chocolates along with hot water bottles in the bed! Very good breakfast. Reasonably good location.
Ideal for a first-night stop
For us, Olive Grove was a ideal place for our first night stay: easy to find, with secure parking; a friendly welcome; a short walk from a shopping area with a supermarket to stock up with fruit and water, a phone shop to buy a SIM card (15 N$), and a bottle shop if needed. There is access to the internet to let friends and family know you have arrived safely, and after a long journey it was good to be able to eat in and not have to worry about finding a restaurant.
Dinner was a set three-course menu, with a choice of meat, and was delicious. It was a pleasant surprise to find complmentary port and chocolates in our room after dinner, and even more pleasant to find hot water bottles in the bed!
The room itself wa spacious with excellent shower and bathroom facilities, although after the sun went down it was not lit well enough to repack after the journey, but that was completed next morning before an excellent breakfast (The "Norwegian" breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs is highly recommended.)

A warm welcome
This is an ideal place to start or finish a Namibian trip, or in our case, both. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
The option to have a light or full dinner on site was great.
Olive Grove review
Due to our late arrival at the Olive Grove we did not spend a great deal of time there. They arranged a taxi to take us to a nearby restaurant (Joe's Beerhouse) as the area was not safe for pedestrians.
Breakfast the following morning was pleasant.
A good boutique hotel

Very nice experience. Made to feel welcome and appreciated immediately upon arrival. Helpful, friendly staff. Excellent (and plenty of) food. Owner dropped by to say hello and ask if we needed anything too, which is smart business, but also appreciated. Only wish we had arrived sooner to be able to take advantage of their spa services too! Great location.Read more about the whole trip
Lovely Guest House
We loved this place.
We arrived very early in the morning, due to the time of our flight. They were very welcoming, immediately served us an excellent breakfast and the room was very quickly made ready for us. It was beautiful, with an amazing shower.
The evening meal was good too.
Lovely place to stay for a night on the way through Windhoek.
Nadia seemed to be on duty 24 hours a day and was most helpful and charming, serving us a delicious breakfast at the ridiculously early hour we needed.
We ate at their sister restaurant next door which was excellent, if a little grand. The food was first class but the portions were enormous - warning to fellow travellers, skip some of the courses or die !
